Meanwhile, Chalamet garnered attention during the red carpet at the Academy Awards as he arrived in a white suit and donned black sunglasses. He complemented the look with multiple statement rings, a wristwatch, and white boots.
Interestingly, he is nominated for Best Actor for his performance in 'Marty Supreme', and is competing in the category against Michael B Jordan, Leonardo DiCaprio, Wagner Moura, and Ethan Hawke.
The actor had already received two Best Actor nominations earlier. He was also nominated for his role in the 2024 Bob Dylan biopic 'A Complete Unknown,' and for the 2017 coming-of-age romantic drama 'Call Me By Your Name.'
Fact check: False claim as the post originated as satire
The claim made in the online post is false, as no such incident took place at the Academy Awards on Sunday. The rumor stems from a viral hoax circulating on social media during the event.
Reliable sources, including live coverage from several media houses and the official Oscars site, reported on Chalamet's red carpet appearance positively, and there are no reports of any incident, stumble, or fall from credible outlets.
Furthermore, the X account @discussingfish that shared the viral post is a self-described parody account. The page's bio reads, "parody satire fake news page." The post is a classic case of misinformation going viral on social media during big events.
The viral post contained a photo of a man in a white suit falling down the stairs. However, it was not Timothée Chalamet. The claim was debunked as an old photo of a stuntman falling at the 2011 Cannes Film Festival, repurposed as a fake for this year's Oscars.
