WASHINGTON, DC: Viral screenshots purportedly showing President Donald Trump going on an angry rant about cancelled policies and programmes are circulating on social media following Democrats’ victories in the 2026 midterm elections.

The screenshots have sparked debate online, with some users describing them as evidence of a presidential meltdown, while others have questioned their authenticity. Let’s fact-check the claim.

Claim: Trump expresses a complete meltdown in a Truth Social post after midterm losses

An X post shared by @1JaySC described the screenshots as evidence of Trump having a "complete meltdown," using derogatory language while circulating what appeared to be an angry rant by the president about cancelled policies and other grievances.

The alleged Truth Social posts listed several complaints, including the cancellation of Super Intelligence and stimulus checks, before making an unusual reference to Trump's son, Barron. The purported post began, "This is your president speaking. You read that right. Your President."

It further stated, "But since the woke mind doesn't want that, there's gonna be some changes around here. You failed me. There are consequences since you are an enemy of the greatest president to ever live."

The alleged post also listed several programmes and initiatives that Trump supposedly intended to cancel, stating, "American Crypto? Cancelled. Super Intelligence? Cancelled. Stimulus checks? Cancelled. Epstein file releases? Cancelled. Working to get gas prices lower? Cancelled."

Concluding the purported rant, the post referred to Barron and included remarks about white men, stating, "Hope you like cancel culture. It seems like the liberal IDIOTS do. Why would you disrespect the greatest man to ever live. My son Barron came to my room upset. He is scared because he is a white man. Every white man should be scared. God bless some of you. PRESIDENT DONALD J FREEDOM TRUMP"

Fact Check: The claim is false

The claim is false. The screenshot shared by @1JaySC, which was described as evidence of Trump having a “complete meltdown,” is fabricated.

There is no matching post on Donald Trump's official X account (@realDonaldTrump) or his Truth Social account.

Community Notes on the original X post also identified the screenshot as fake, pointing out that the alleged message does not appear on Trump's official accounts.

Some users questioned its authenticity, with one remarking that it was “too grammatically correct for a real Trump post.”

A search of Trump's recent X posts and available Truth Social records also found no such message or similar statements about cancelling the programmes mentioned in the screenshot following the midterm results.

Trump's genuine posts around early November 2026 included endorsements of Republican candidates in states such as Texas, Nevada and Michigan. He also commented on the midterm results, claiming he would have won “IN A LANDSLIDE” if his name had been on the ballot. However, none of these posts matched the content or wording shown in the viral screenshot.
