The screenshot, however, is fabricated as Trump never made such a post. A search on his official Truth Social account for the post yielded no results.

Trump’s official commentary account on X, which archives all his Truth Social posts, also does not include a post in which he portrays himself as Jesus on the cross.

A fact check by Grok also confirmed this, stating, “The image shared in this post is fake and digitally altered. No verified Truth Social post from Trump exists showing him as Jesus on the cross. It misleadingly equates his legal and political challenges to Christ's persecution.”

The post came weeks after the president faced widespread criticism for sharing an AI-generated image appearing to depict himself in the likeness of Lord Jesus Christ.

The post, shared on Truth Social on Sunday, April 12, drew backlash from political allies, conservative commentators, and religious figures.

The image, which shows Trump in a white robe with a red sash and a glowing orb in one hand, resembles traditional depictions of Lord Jesus Christ. It was a modified version of an earlier post by a right-wing influencer and was later shared by Trump, which he later deleted.

The controversy comes during heightened political tensions, including Trump’s recent criticism of Pope Leo XIV over the Iran conflict.
