WASHINGTON, DC: Following unverified rumours that the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) raided the office of Director of National Intelligence Tulsi Gabbard, a fresh has surfaced suggesting that President Donald Trump denied any such raid took place. Let us analyse the origins of the viral claim and fact-check it.

The newly surfaced claim suggested that Trump allegedly addressed the rumor about the CIA raid at Gabbard's office, stating, “The CIA has not and did not raid the office of Tulsi Gabbard today to steal JFK and MK-Ultra documents. That is fake news scam made up by fake news themselves in a desperate attempt.”

According to the post, Trump made the above statement live on television.

The claim has spread on other social media platforms such as Facebook and has been amplified by several accounts, garnering hundreds of thousands of views.

Fact Check: Donald Trump made no such statement

However, there is no evidence of Trump making such a statement about the alleged raid.

A search on Google for the claim yielded no videos or news reports of the president addressing the alleged raid at the National Intelligence office. If the claim were true, prominent news media outlets would have made sure to report it.

A fact check by Grok stated, “No, this claim is false. No verified clip, transcript, or report shows Trump saying that on live TV. Gabbard's office flatly denied that any CIA raid had happened (This is false — the CIA did not raid the DNI’s office)."

"The story started from a whistleblower claim amplified by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna, but it was quickly walked back/clarified as not a current 'raid.' This post appears to be fabricated Q-adjacent hype.”

Luna said she would subpoena the CIA if the agency does not return the seized files to the department’s office.

In a post on X, Luna stated, “Given the nature of the docs in question, we are sending a preservation notice. Docs need to be returned to ODNI, given that ODNI was given direction and authority by the President to declass RFK, MLK, & JFK.”

"Regarding MKULTRA, these were documents specifically requested by my Task Force and currently being used for our investigation.”

"The reason why this is troubling, A) there was an executive order that the president directed the full declassification of JFK, but then also to the MK-Ultra files, famously, the CIA said that all documents were released and other documents had been destroyed," Luna told NewsNation.
