Fact Check: Does the video show Donald Trump saying he has a husband?
VANDALIA, OHIO: With only a few days until the midterm election, a video began circulating on social media platforms showing President Donald Trump during a campaign rally telling his supporters he has a husband. The claim has sparked mockery and speculation online, with many calling for a fact-check.
Claim: Donald Trump said that he has a husband

According to the video that went viral, a news broadcast shows Trump telling his supporters that he has a husband.
At one point in the video, Trump is heard saying, “We sat down, and I sat down with my husband, and I started writing, and I went on and on, and in a little I realized I ran out of paper."
The video has spread on several platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, and X, garnering millions of views. Many believe it is authentic footage and an actual statement by the president, while a few others remained skeptical and questioned its authenticity.
Fact Check: Donald Trump was quoting someone else

Although the portion of the video where Trump is heard saying the remark is authentic, the news broadcast is fake and includes an anchor who appears to have been generated using an artificial intelligence tool.
Though Trump did say the exact words heard in that section of the footage, he was quoting someone else; rather, he was not saying that he himself has a husband.
The claim originated from a set of social media pages called The BSN Network, whose Facebook page describes itself as ‘satire.’
Donald Trump's original remark from the Ohio rally

The video was part of the campaign rallies that the president attended in support of Republican candidates across the country ahead of the much-awaited midterm elections.
In the original footage from a rally in Ohio, Trump can be heard saying, “You know, a woman was on the other day, and she was defending me against false charges. Just false crap, you know, political stuff."
"And she said, ‘You know, last night I sat down in my kitchen, and I started writing out all the things that President Trump has accomplished during the second- this is our second term, probably you could say third term. We just don't, we just don't want the results of the second.”
“But, ‘We sat down and sat down with my husband, and I started writing, and I would on and on. And in a little while I realized I ran out of paper. I didn't have that much paper. We went all over the house looking for paper.’ So many things, it's true.”
