LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: A viral claim is circulating on social media that alleges that 'Euphoria' actor Jacob Elordi has been deported to Australia due to issues with his US visa. The Australian-born actor has previously spoken about facing visa challenges earlier in his career, adding fuel to the speculation. But where did this claim originate? Is this true?

The claim appears to have originated from a post shared by the Instagram account outtapocketnews, which alleged that Jacob Elordi had been deported 'after US immigration officials flagged issues with his visa status.'

The post featured a photo of Elordi with the word 'DEPORTED' written across it in bold capital letters. Its caption, viewed by over 608,000 users, read, “Breaking: Jacob Elordi has reportedly been deported back to Australia after U.S. immigration officials flagged issues with his visa status.”

The caption further claimed, "Sources say he was detained briefly before being placed on a flight returning him to his home. The incident has quickly sparked reactions online as fans await an official statement from Elordi or his team."

Within hours, the post had gained more than 64,000 likes and nearly 1,000 comments. However, many users expressed skepticism, with some questioning its authenticity. “Wait, is this real?” one user asked, while another wrote, “This has to be fake—I can’t find any sources confirming it.” A third commenter criticized the claim, calling it 'ridiculous' and pointing out the actor’s prominence and ties to the US.

There is no evidence to support the claim that Jacob Elordi was deported. Notably, he was recently seen attending the Oscars at the Dolby Theatre in Los Angeles, which shows he is still in the US.

While Elordi has faced visa issues in the past, there are no reports of any current problems.

When he first moved from Australia to Los Angeles in 2017 to build his acting career after 'The Kissing Booth,' things were difficult for him. He struggled with money, sometimes slept in his car, and stayed on friends’ couches as his visa was about to expire. At one point, he even thought he might have to return to Australia if things didn’t work out.

In an interview with GQ Australia, he said, "I’d been in LA for about a year, I didn’t have any work, and I had no money." He also mentioned, "My visa had like two weeks before it expired, so I was going to dip out and go back to Australia."

However, things changed when he got a role in 'Euphoria.' The opportunity helped him financially and allowed him to renew his visa. Since then, he has continued working and now lives in Los Angeles.

Elordi is currently working on 'The Dog Stars,' a film directed by Ridley Scott. He is also set to return in Euphoria Season 3, which is expected to release later this year.
