LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum found himself unexpectedly compared to a historical icon during a recent interview on Fox Business.

The discussion, which initially focused on Burgum's potential role as a vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump, took a lighthearted turn when host Larry Kudlow relayed a comment from Fox News contributor Katie Pavlich.

Unexpected comparison to George Washington sparks humor in VP speculation

In the closing moments of the interview, Kudlow shared Pavlich's observation with Burgum: "How about some Friday follies, Governor? Katie Pavlich, you just met her,"

Kudlow began, "She says you look like George Washington. You look just like Washington. Focus in on him. I don’t know if we have a handy picture of George Washington… Katie’s a very smart woman. And my only question is, how long have you looked like George Washington?"

Burgum, clearly amused by the comparison, responded in jest, "Apparently about 10 seconds. This is news to me on that."

The comparison to George Washington, the first president of the United States, could potentially play a role in Burgum's political future, especially considering Trump's penchant for visual impact and symbolism.

Trump's preference for image and symbolism in decision-making

The former president, known for his avid consumption of Fox News and Fox Business, has previously made decisions based on visual impressions, as evidenced by his initial rejection of John Bolton due to his mustache.

"Bolton’s mustache is a problem," Trump reportedly said, though he later appointed Bolton as National Security Advisor.

Burgum, a billionaire with a business background and currently serving as Governor of North Dakota, has been rumored to be on Trump's shortlist for the vice presidential nomination. His recent statements on Fox News criticizing the Biden administration's policies further indicate his alignment with Trump's views.

"Under Joe Biden, we’re actually living under a dictatorship," Burgum asserted in a separate interview on Wednesday.

Mixed reactions and speculation surrounding Burgum's potential VP role

The speculation surrounding North Dakota Governor Doug Burgum's potential as a vice presidential candidate for Donald Trump has sparked a range of reactions and comments.

One user wrote, "Burgum was once a noted moderate, but now that the Trump spell has come over him, he spouts nonsense and makes a fool of himself."

Another commented, "Dougie only needs a set of wooden false teeth to complete the George Washington effect."

Another replied, "This dude is actually too sane for the Trunt ticket. Look for him to pick the far more dangerous and evil JD Vance"

One added, "Bergum did lose his cherry to Trump, so there is that remote resemblance."

Another said, "Burgum's name is too weird to ever be on the top of a ticket."

One stated, "Burgum looks more like Groucho Marx than George Washington."

Another added, "Trump will never pick him now."
