Internet rebukes Kevin O'Leary for proposing Doug Burgum's name as a 'terrific' VP pick for Donald Trump
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: ‘Shark Tank’ investor Kevin O'Leary is fully committed to backing a leading candidate to be the running mate of former President Donald Trump in 2024.
During an interview on 'Fox & Friends Weekend,' 'Mr Wonderful' enthusiastically endorsed Governor Doug Burgum of North Dakota, calling him a "terrific" pick for Trump.

What did Kevin O'Leary say?
"I've been going to North Dakota for years now, and I've seen what he can do with execution skills. His track record is unbelievable in what he's done for the state," O'Leary said on Saturday, June 15, according to Fox News.
O'Leary described how he got to know Burgum years ago when the governor persuaded him to begin making investments in North Dakota following a 'Shark Tank' transaction that brought him to Fargo.
"His track record is unbelievable in what he's done for the state," he said, adding "Very few Americans know that the richest citizens in the country for sovereign wealth are people that live in North Dakota. Doug Burgum did that."
Kevin O'Leary suggested Doug Burgum is the executive Donald Trump needs
He proposed that Burgum should be Trump's go-to executive, "the guy who gets things done." "I don't see that skill set proven in any other candidate. So, I'm unabashedly supporting someone I know in business is a phenomenal leader," he said.
Donald Trump has remained silent about his choice for the 2024 Republican presidential ticket
Trump has remained silent regarding the Republican presidential ticket he might select for 2024.
In a recent interview which took place at the Republican National Committee headquarters in Washington, DC, Trump stated that he has "sort of a pretty good idea" who his vice presidential running mate will be, but that the announcement of his choice won't likely come until the RNC convention in August.
The former president traveled to Washington, DC, last week in an effort to reunite the party in advance of the convention by meeting with Republican lawmakers.
Asked whether his VP choice was among those he met with, Trump said, "Probably. I don't want to go, but I think (it) will probably get announced during the convention. There were some good people, and we have some very good people." The convention will be held from July 15 through July 18 in Milwaukee.
Several names have been reported as being on Donald Trump's shortlist
Trump's shortlist reportedly includes a number of names. Earlier this month, the Trump campaign formally requested documents from Sens. JD Vance of Ohio and Marco Rubio of Florida for the VP vetting process in addition to Burgum.
Others under consideration are Senators Tom Cotton of Arkansas and Tim Scott of South Carolina, Representatives Byron Donalds of Florida and Elise Stefanik of New York, and retired neurosurgeon Ben Carson who served as Housing and Urban Development secretary in the Trump administration.
Doug Burgum is the clear choice for Kevin O'Leary
However, Burgum is O'Leary's obvious choice. He said, "He's pro-business, he's pro-growth, he's pro-innovation, he's pro-entrepreneur. You would want that in every state. I know this sounds crazy, but if you're a Democrat right now listening to this, you want Doug Burgum as vice president … he's not partisan in any way when it comes to building the American economy up. He works with both sides all the time. That's how you get stuff done."
Internet mocks Kevin O'Leary for pitching Doug Burgum's name as Donald Trump's VP contender
Netizens slammed the businessman for suggesting Burgum's name as the potential VP candidate for Trump. One X user tweeted, "As if Kevin Leary knows anything?" Another wrote, "Lol, would Doug Burgum’s own mother recognize him?" "The perfect choice is whoever is standing where electability and effectiveness intersect," added one user.
"This guy is your political point man? Bwahaha," laughed one while another opined, "I agree with him Kevin but the mass won’t understand that plus u want to pick up minorities and woman and unfortunately that won’t advance the map.. But Bugrum could be chief of staff or something greater in his administration."
"I don’t care about the opinions of the super rich. They play by different rules than the rest of us. Of course they want to elect the man who will help them keep the system rigged toward the rich," commented one user.
