Trump strolls through highly secretive Zhongnanhai garden with Xi during Beijing visit
President Donald Trump's spectacle-filled two-day visit to Beijing came to an elegant close as Chinese President Xi Jinping, on Friday, May 15, welcomed him for another round of talks at Zhongnanhai, the secretive political compound often regarded as China’s version of the White House or the Kremlin. Nestled just west of the Forbidden City, the compound stands as the hidden center of Chinese political power. What once served as an imperial garden and royal banquet for Ming and Qing emperors later transformed into the tightly guarded home and political headquarters of China’s top leaders.
