Kyle Busch's wife and children break down during emotional NASCAR tribute after champion's sudden death

His wife, Samantha Busch, stood alongside their children, 11-year-old son Brexton and 4-year-old daughter Lennix,  joined by Busch’s parents, Tom and Gaye Busch, and his older brother, NASCAR Hall of Famer Kurt Busch, as fans honored one of the sport’s most iconic figures.

The tribute grew even more emotional as Samantha Busch stepped onto the track, clutching a bouquet of white roses, walking arm-in-arm with her children in a heartbreaking display of love and remembrance for her late husband. The grief-stricken mother eventually broke down in tears as bagpipers performed a haunting rendition of "Amazing Grace.”

Young Brexton paid a touching tribute to his father by wearing a black cap stitched with Kyle’s legendary No. 8, a number NASCAR has temporarily retired until the day the youngster may one day carry on his father’s legacy behind the wheel. He and his mother wore matching black T-shirts emblazoned with the words "Battle of the Busches." At one emotional moment during the tribute, young Lennix, wearing black-and-white checkered bows in her hair as a heartfelt tribute to her father’s racing legacy, was gently lifted into Samantha’s arms by a fellow mourner standing trackside.

NASCAR fans who joined the emotional family for the tribute also placed white roses on the "8" stenciled of the infield grass during the remembrance ceremony for Kyle Busch. Heartfelt hand-written messages honoring the racing legend were also left scattered across the track.

The tribute reached an even more heartbreaking moment when NASCAR CEO Steve O'Donnell took the stage and delivered a deeply emotional speech honoring the late racing champion. "Every race track was Kyle Busch’s home. He competed like he had something to prove every single race, when in reality he'd already proven everything,” he told the crowd. He continued: "What I think we'll miss most isn't the wins. It's the guy who quietly wanted to help a teammate or give some advice.
