Matthew McConaughey makes rare public appearance with wife and all 3 children at Texas cinema honor

Matthew McConaughey was joined by his wife, Camila Alves, and their three children, sons Levi and Livingston, and daughter Vida, at the Matthew McConaughey Cinema's dedication ceremony and 'The Rivals of Amziah King' special screening. The 'Interstellar' star donned a navy suit while his eldest wore a button-up shirt with blue jeans. Vida looked beautiful in a black silk dress, while her younger brother, Livingston, looked stylish in a powder-blue suit with a white T-shirt. The children's model mother wowed in a gray plaid suit with a brown hat.

Matthew McConaughey was seen in great spirits at the screening of his new film 'The Rivals of Amziah King' at the Matthew McConaughey Cinema in Austin, Texas, where he was joined by his wife and their children. The August 10 event was special in more than one way, as the city celebrated the 56-year-old actor's work by renaming the local theater, the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller, to the Matthew McConaughey Cinema, and also declaring August 10 as 'Matthew McConaughey Cinema Day' in Austin. 

Matthew McConaughey also expressed his happiness and gratitude for the recognition. In a press release, the award-winning actor said, "More than just what’s on the screen, movies have always been about who you watch them with and the memories you take home." He added, "Alamo Drafthouse has championed that kind of moviegoing from the very beginning, and to have a theater dedicated in my name in the city that's shaped so much of who I am means a great deal to me."

Matthew McConaughey also took the stage to perform during the dedication ceremony and 'The Rivals of Amziah King' special screening. Joined by his family and film crew, McConaughey got hold of a mandolin to perform with the film's band. Austin Mayor Kirk Watson described Matthew McConaughey as "a beloved local Austin icon" while supporting the decision to rename the Alamo Drafthouse Mueller. Watson added that it's a "wonderful way to celebrate his professional accomplishments and celebrate someone who genuinely loves this city."

The August 10 event was attended by many high-profile names, including other members of 'The Rivals of Amziah King' team. The actor was seen posing with co-star Angelina LookingGlass, director Andrew Patterson, Teddy Schwarzman, Ben Hardesty, and Amos Housworth at the Matthew McConaughey Cinema's dedication ceremony ahead of the special screening.
