Meghan Markle wears Princess Diana's sapphire and diamond earrings during charity date night with Prince Harry

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry looked dapper in matching black fits as they went on a charity date night in Canada. The pair were in Victoria, British Columbia, on August 7 to support their friend David Foster at his event celebrating 40 years of fundraising for the David Foster Foundation.

Meghan Markle used the August 7 event to honor her late mother-in-law Princess Diana by wearing her diamond and sapphire earrings. She rocked the heirloom piece with a black off-the-shoulder body-hugging dress from Canadian designer Greta Constantine. The Duke of Sussex looked equally classy in a classic black tuxedo with a matching bow tie.

Meghan Markle and Prince Harry happily posed with their friends, David Foster and his wife Katharine McPhee, at the August 7 event. The four are longtime friends and were spotted on a double date at Lucky’s Steakhouse in Montecito in 2020. Markle and McPhee reportedly attended the same school as teens, and in recent years, their respective husbands have also gotten close. Back in 2020, the 42-year-old singer had told Access Hollywood, "My husband has a really, really beautiful relationship with Harry. They're like, they’re so cute. They're like father and son."

Katharine McPhee told Access Hollywood that she knows the Duchess of Sussex from childhood, but "Harry and my husband are friends. It's really nice." Meanwhile, in early 2020, the Canadian-American record producer, 76, had revealed that he once arranged a mansion on Vancouver Island in Canada for Meghan and Harry to stay. "I felt honored that I was able to help Meghan there because I’m a Canadian, and we’re a Commonwealth country; we’re the Crown’s. It’s important to us, so I grew up with that kind of sentiment," Foster reportedly told the Daily Mail.

Apart from Meghan Markle and Prince Harry, the David Foster Foundation 40th Anniversary Celebration on August 7 was also attended by Anthony von Mandl, The Honourable Wendy Cocchia, and Sergio Cocchia. Other high-profile guests were Bill Gates, Josh Groban, Chad Kroeger, CeeLo Green, and athlete Rick Hansen.
