'Star Wars' actor Hayden Christensen makes rare red carpet appearance with 11-year-old daughter Briar Rose

Hayden Christensen hit the red carpet with his 11-year-old daughter, Briar Rose, for the first time at the Lucas Museum of Narrative Art’s opening night in Los Angeles on September 19. The father-daughter duo looked totally in sync as they held hands, smiled and happily posed for photographers during their first red carpet outing together.

Christensen kept things effortlessly cool in a dark navy blue blazer, gray T-shirt, and dark jeans, while Briar looked adorable in a simple white dress, her hazel tresses left down. The father-daughter duo stayed close and shared smiles as they posed together on the red carpet.

Christensen’s bond with his daughter looked completely natural and genuine. Even while posing for the paparazzi, the actor never let go of Briar Rose’s hand and stayed close, keeping a protective eye on her throughout. The doting dad was also seen chatting and smiling with her, seemingly making sure she felt comfortable and at ease while cameras captured their every move.

Hayden Christensen, 45, welcomed daughter Briar Rose with his former partner Rachel Bilson. The pair were together from 2007 to 2017 and became parents in 2014. Since their split, they have continued to co-parent Briar while also enjoying their own one-on-one time with her. For Christensen, some of the best dad moments are pretty low-key. He previously shared how much he enjoys watching TV with Briar. “I have a young daughter, and I love watching shows with her,” Christensen told MTV at the D23 Expo last month. “Her favorite ones right now are Liv and Maddie and Henry Danger, so I enjoy getting to watch those with her.”

This red carpet outing had an extra dose of 'Star Wars' history. The Lucas Museum of Narrative Art was founded by George Lucas, while Christensen is forever linked to the franchise as Anakin Skywalker and Darth Vader. But for Briar Rose, her dad’s iconic villain era is still kind of a mystery. Christensen previously shared that she knows he played Darth Vader, but hasn’t actually watched him in the role yet. “She knows Daddy’s Darth Vader, (but) she’s never seen Daddy as Darth Vader,” Christensen said on 'The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon' in 2022. “I’m still waiting a little bit, you know, until that happens. I might show her the prequels soon, but still, there’s some scenes we might have to fast-forward through.”
