Barack and Michelle Obama read to children on opening day of their presidential center to public

The first visitors to the Obama Presidential Center were caught off guard when Barack and Michelle Obama unexpectedly appeared among the crowd. Instead of just touring the exhibits, guests found themselves face-to-face with the former president, who greeted them with smiles, handshakes, and casual conversations. When the former president read Maurice Sendak's line about being 'king of all the wild things,' Michelle Obama interjected, 'Although there were no kings,' to applause.
