Jennifer Siebel Newsom, an actress and documentary filmmaker, has regularly appeared alongside her husband as he steps further into the political spotlight this year.
Jennifer Siebel Newsom criticizes Trump
In November, she strongly criticized President DonaldTrump during a press conference on California’s redistricting efforts, calling him “the exact opposite of what real strength looks like.”
Speaking on behalf of her family, she declared that her children will “never consider Trump an acceptable American leader.”
Her remarks framed Trump’s leadership as antithetical to the values she and her husband uphold. Jennifer added, “I won’t raise them to believe his terror fuels his power or that his greed defines success.”
She also described the values they intend to instill in their children: “If you see someone sitting alone at a table, you invite them to your table. If you see someone being bullied, you speak up and ask an adult for help. You always, always tell the truth.”
Jennifer quipped, “Maybe if Donald Trump’s parents had taught him any of these lessons, they wouldn’t be in this mess.”
Gavin Newsom and Trump public feud
Since Trump’s return to office, Gavin Newsom and the president have frequently sparred in interviews, press conferences, and across social media.
Newsom has accused Trump of undermining democratic values and ignoring state needs, including withholding funds from California, while Trump has dismissed Newsom as ineffective.
In recent months, Newsom has even adopted Trump’s viral social media style to respond, often using memes and unflattering nicknames.
