LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: George Clooney has jumped into the conversation over who should be the next James Bond. It has been five years since Daniel Craig's final outing as 007, and speculation over his successor continues to dominate Hollywood discussions.

Recently, Amazon MGM confirmed that the search for the next Bond is officially underway. Clooney is backing actor Callum Turner, saying he has the right qualities for the role and suggesting the decision should not be delayed for too long. As casting rumors continue to swirl, the debate over who should inherit the iconic role remains wide open.

"I hope Callum Turner ends up being the next Bond. I think he would be a great Bond," Clooney told The Hollywood Reporter in a profile published June 10. "He’s tall and handsome and charming and British, so he’s the perfect guy to do it."

Clooney's comments come as the search for the next 007 gains momentum, with Amazon MGM recently confirming that casting has officially begun for the upcoming 'James Bond' film, which will be directed by Denis Villeneuve.

However, Turner himself says he is just as much in the dark as everyone else. Speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, he said, "I know as much as you do - really, I know as much as you do," referring to the announcement that the new Bond casting process is underway.

As speculation builds, Turner remains grounded, while Clooney has already made his choice clear.

Turner has finally spoken about the ongoing buzz linking him to the next James Bond and says he is just as clueless as everyone else.

"I will tell you what is funny about the Bond thing, even your best friends ask you people you have not spoken to in years text you, and you still know nothing", he told The Hollywood Reporter. "It is strange when something is happening and not really happening at the same time. I honestly do not know anything. I just find it funny."

His comments come as the search for the next 007 continues. Still, a number of names are being discussed.

Turner is among the favorites thanks to his work in 'Masters of the Air' and the 'Fantastic Beasts' franchise. Jacob Elordi, known for 'Saltburn' and 'Euphoria', is also being linked to the role following reports of early conversations with producers.

Tom Francis is seen as an outside choice, while Aaron Taylor-Johnson remains a strong fan favorite in long-running discussions. Harris Dickinson is also regularly mentioned in industry talks.

For now, Amazon MGM has not announced a shortlist or confirmed any casting decisions, leaving the race for the next James Bond wide open. Still, Clooney has made it clear where his vote stands.
