Fundraiser created to cover legal costs for ICE officer
The GoFundMe campaign for Ross was created by Clyde Emmons of Mount Forest, Michigan.
At the time of publication of this report, it had raised a massive $98,000 from more than 1,900 donors.
In the description, Emmons defended the officer’s actions and said the fundraiser was intended to support Ross with potential legal expenses.
“After seeing all the media bs about a domestic te**orist getting go fund me, I feel that the officer that was 1000 percent justified in the shooting deserves to have a go fund me,” the description reads.
Emmons added that the funds would be used to help cover legal services for the officer.
“Funds will go to help pay for any legal services this officer needs,” the description further states, noting that if Ross cannot be reached, the money would be donated to ICE through DAP.
“I am currently in contact with his father and awaiting the officers response so I can send him the link to hand this over to him personally,” Emmons wrote.
The fundraiser appeared as the shooting continued to spark national debate, with critics condemning ICE’s actions and others rallying behind the officer involved.
Ross was identified by multiple outlets as the ICE agent who shot Good during an enforcement operation that was captured on video and widely circulated online.
Federal officials have said the officer acted in accordance with his training while the incident remains under investigation.
The ICE agent that shot and killed a woman in Minneapolis has reportedly been identified as a man named Jonathan Ross.

Renee Nicole Good's GoFundMe raised over $1.5 million earlier
Days before the fundraiser for Ross appeared, a separate GoFundMe was launched to support the family of Good.
That campaign raised more than $1.5 million from over 38,500 donations before being closed by organizers.
In an update, the organizers said the funds would be placed into a trust for Good’s family.
“We’ve closed this GoFundMe and will place the funds in a trust for the family,” the note read. “If you’re looking to donate, we encourage you to support others in need. We’re truly grateful.”
