Grimes throws shade at ex Elon Musk over men who want to ‘go to space’ after Olivia Rodrigo’s jibe

NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Singers Olivia Rodrigo and Grimes are on the same page about not dating men who want to go to space.

Divorced from tech billionaire and SpaceX CEO Elon Musk, 36-year-old Grimes supported Rodrigo, 21, when she shared her biggest red flag when it comes to dating during an interview with Netflix.

Admitting that she has a “very oddly specific question” for men on first dates, Rodrigo said, "I always ask them if they think that they would want to go to space. And if they say yes, I don’t date them."

"I just think if you wanna go to space, you’re a little too full of yourself. I think it’s just weird," she added, as per Page Six.

Rodrigo is currently dating actor Louis Partridge. Her comments went viral over social media and caught the attention of Grimes, who separated from Musk in 2022.

Reacting to Olivia Rodrigo's take on the social media platform X (formerly Twitter), Grimes commented, "It's true. Only women should be going to space."

While she never mentioned Musk, who also owns X, netizens were quick to read between the lines and pick up on the apparent shade.

Musk has long been fascinated with space and has made significant strides in the arena with his company SpaceX. He has also reportedly signed a $178 million contract with NASA to help them reach Jupiter’s ice-crusted moon, Europa.

A father of 12, he shares three children with Grimes- 4-year-old X Æ A-Xii (aka X), and two 2-year-olds, Exa Dark Sideræl (aka Y) and Techno Mechanicus (aka Tau). The pair have been locked in a custody battle over their children since 2023, and both have filed petitions for parental rights.
