WASHINGTON DC: Vice President Kamala Harris was hit with accusations online of being "fed questions" after she was caught in a hot mic moment during Hurricane Milton briefing.

Harris, who virtually attended the meeting on Wednesday, October 9, was seen whispering to someone that she was attending a "live broadcast," as per the New York Post.

National Weather Service Director Ken Graham was cautioning about the likely catastrophe of the floods from the storm that made its landfall in Florida that day when the vice president got distracted by something in the background.

Trying to be discreet, she covered her mouth and said, "It's a live broadcast." However, the microphone captured the embarrassing moment with clarity.

Shortly after her not-so-discreet comment to someone standing behind her camera, Harris attempted to cover up the embarrassing moment by asking a follow-up question to show she was listening to Graham.

"Hey Ken I have a question for you," the Democratic nominee interrupted the meeting before they moved to the next speaker.

"You mentioned words matter, and – um –I know there is a lot of – um – media following this briefing. So, there have been – um – we’ve gone from a [category] five to a [category] four, and the language that a lot of folks have been using is ‘downgrade,’ but it sounds like you’re cautioning us that that may communicate a sense that the danger is lessened, when, in fact, it’s not. Can you talk a little bit about that?" Harris asked.

Before being caught on the microphone, the vice president frequently looked down at her desk, apparently reading a script during the briefing as she urged the residents of Florida, particularly of the Tampa region, to take Hurricane Milton "seriously."

FORT MYERS BEACH, FLORIDA - OCTOBER 09: Members of the media work in flooded streets after Hurricane Milton made landfall in the Sarasota area on October 09, 2024, in Fort Myers, Florida. Milton, coming on the heels of the destructive Helene, hit as a category 3 storm with winds of over 100 mph, though veering south of the projected direct hit on Tampa. Instead, the storm, which earlier had reportedly spawned tornadoes, landed about 70 miles south of Tampa near Siesta Key, a strip of white-sand beaches that's home to 5,500 people, according to published reports.. The hurricane made its landfall on October 9 night near Siesta Key, in the Sunshine State, as a category 3 storm. Hurricane Milton started as a category 5 storm with 180 mph and declined its speed to 120 mph at the time of landfall.

It is the second storm to hit Florida in 12 days after the destructive Hurricane Helene.

Internet slams Kamala Harris with accusations of being 'fed questions' during Hurricane Milton briefing

Former president Donald Trump's campaign page on social media and his allies like Charlie Kirk accused Harris of being "fed questions" during the hurricane briefing. Many on social media also joined in blasting the VP for depending on scripts during meetings.

"BUSTED!! Kamala is heard telling an aide who is feeding her questions, that it’s a “live broadcast. She then asks the question she was presumably given. When you realize what a fraud this woman is, you can’t unsee it," conservative political commentator Charlie Kirk wrote.

"Kamala can be heard telling an aide (who is feeding her questions) that it's a "live broadcast" before immediately asking the question. She's a total fraud," Trump campaign page, Trump War Room, claimed.

"Everything about Kamala Harris is fake and rehearsed! This lady can’t seem to do anything without a script," added a third user.

"Her staff is giving her the questions in her ear," read a fifth response.

"She is fake, staged and handled every time," someone else said.

"She can’t operate without a script," an individual chimed in.

"It’s comical watching @KamalaHarris try to act presidential while she’s getting shit fed to her through an ear piece. There’s nothing authentic about that woman," read one remark.

"Needs cards to read from to tell Floridians to take the storm seriously..." another user wrote.
