“Say hello to our son Aster Sky Wright Lococo, born at home on the 28th September, named after the star-shaped flower,” Wright, 35, wrote on Instagram alongside photographs of their newborn.

She added that their “little star” had been showered with love by his big brother, Elio, before thanking the universe for her “loving bundle of boys.”

Following the pregnancy announcement, Wright received congratulatory messages from friends and fans. Her 'Harry Potter' co-star Evanna Lynch commented, “Ahhh congratulations Bonnie!!!” David Holmes, Daniel Radcliffe’s stunt double in the films, also congratulated her, writing, “Congratulations, Bonnie.”

Wright, who played Ginny Weasley in all eight 'Harry Potter' films, welcomed her first child with Lococo in September 2023. Announcing Elio’s birth on Instagram, she wrote, “We’re all healthy and happy. Andrew and I are so in love with our sun!”

She thanked their birth team for supporting them throughout the experience, describing the journey as “joyous and expanding.”

Bonnie Wright on motherhood and new Ginny Weasley cast

Wright and Lococo met in 2020 and married in March 2022. Wright announced their marriage on Instagram, showing off her unique wedding ring featuring a square blue stone.

Since becoming a mother, Wright, an environmental activist who founded the family community Earthling, has frequently shared photographs of her outdoor adventures with Elio.

In a January Instagram post, she described spending time closer to the land, watching Elio and Lococo sift compost and play in the garden, visiting the library, and working on new Hello Earthling projects.

She also mentioned building trains and puzzles with her son and watching him grow into a “determined, chatty, funny and busy little boy” who always has time for a kiss and a cuddle.

Beyond motherhood, Wright has spoken about the next generation of actors taking on the Harry Potter characters as the books are adapted for television for the first time.

Having begun playing Ginny Weasley at age 9, Wright expressed excitement about the new cast and encouraged the actor taking on the role to develop their own interpretation of the character.

Speaking to PEOPLE before a performance of 'Harry Potter and the Cursed Child' at New York City’s Lyric Theater on April 30, Wright said she would not give her younger self specific advice.

She explained that the uncertainty, wonder, nervousness, and excitement of the experience had provided the drive and energy.

She encouraged the new cast to use the books as their original source material while shaping the characters for their generation.

Wright said she hoped the actors would make the characters their own and give them new life. Her advice was to “be present in the moment” and “Enjoy every minute of it.”
