Helen Mirren shuts down Tom Hardy feud buzz with 'love you now and always' message
LONDON, ENGLAND: Helen Mirren has basically made it clear there’s no beef with Tom Hardy, dropping an Instagram post featuring his image and name without directly calling anything out.
The post comes right after Hardy got caught in on-set drama buzz around 'MobLand', with reports claiming he kept cast members waiting and stayed in his trailer for hours at a time. One insider even said, "It feels like Tom is winding her up."
Helen Mirren responds to 'MobLand' drama with surprising Tom Hardy post
Sharing a post on Instagram featuring his image with a simple but pointed message. “Love you now and always,” the actress wrote across a photo of Hardy shared on her Instagram on Thursday, May 28.
Even though Mirren didn’t add any extra caption or explanation, the post itself spoke volumes. She also reportedly restricted comments on the upload. The post has already gathered around 18.3K likes and was shared on Thursday, May 28.
The timing of the post is being seen as a subtle but strong response to ongoing rumors, including claims from an unnamed source cited in Daily Mail reports that Mirren was "getting increasingly frustrated with Tom and his attitude."
“He can be late to filming, too, and that is annoying for Dame Helen, who is extremely professional and disciplined. His tone is something Dame Helen doesn’t like, along with his lateness,” the source alleged. The report further suggested that tensions had been building over several months, with earlier claims of behind-the-scenes friction between the 'MobLand' co-stars.
What did Tom Hardy reportedly do on the 'MobLand' set?
As per Entertainment Weekly, multiple sources alleged that Hardy frequently kept his co-stars waiting by remaining in his trailer for long stretches during filming.
“He refused to come out of his trailer for hours at a time. He kept the cast waiting, which is a power play. Keeping Pierce Brosnan, Helen Mirren, and others waiting is career suicide, I would wager.”
Another source pointed to a noticeable contrast between his on-screen presence and off-camera behavior.
"Tom’s character is charming. He’s the calm one, but it is quite the opposite when the cameras stop. Dame Helen is a joy, she is a total pro, and she has worked with so many people over the years."
The insider also added stronger criticism about the working environment, saying, "He is very, very arrogant. It’s a fantastic show, and everyone loves working on it. It’s such a shame there is this undertone,"
Reports have also claimed Hardy was allegedly fired from the Paramount+ series in May, ahead of discussions around a potential third season.
