WASHINGTON, DC: Stephen Miller delivered a heartfelt tribute to Karoline Leavitt following the announcement of her departure as White House press secretary, praising her service to President Donald Trump, the administration, and the country but also noting that she’s a mother, a patriot, and a role model for young women.

The White House deputy chief of staff called Leavitt an "extraordinary person” who had risen to a key position in the broader movement. And he also pointed to her time as press secretary as potentially just the start of her public career.

Speaking after Leavitt stepped down from her position on Wednesday, August 12, Miller praised the way she handled one of the White House’s most visible jobs: "Her job that she has performed as White House press secretary, the word exemplary doesn't even begin to cover it.”

“She has served this president so well, this administration so well, this country so well, and very importantly, she's been a role model to millions and millions of young women all across this country; a mother, a family woman, a press secretary, a patriot," he added.

He described Leavitt, whom he called a "close friend," as "an extraordinary person whose role in this movement... in this country is only beginning, and I see unlimited success and possibilities ahead of her... Her story is just beginning. I can't wait to see what her future holds."

"She's someone that has really been in every way, a source of joy and so many of our lives," Miller expressed before touting her professional experience, saying, "Professionally, her credentials, her accolades, her achievements, are second to none."

Karoline Leavitt moves on from the press secretary position

Leavitt will be departing her role at the end of the month to prioritize her family, President Donald Trump announced on Truth Social.

“Karoline has been a real leader in the White House, and has done a phenomenal job fighting for Justice, Liberty, and Freedom since 2018,” he wrote.

"Karoline has been one of the best White House Press Secretaries in the History of the Office. Thank you, Karoline, for a job well done!" the 80-year-old added.

Trump noted that Leavitt would remain one of his “top outside advisors” and an “influential voice within the Republican Party.”

During her time as press secretary, the youngest person to hold the role, Leavitt was frequently at the heart of White House communications, representing the administration at briefings and defending the president's agenda from reporters.
