MEDELLIN, COLOMBIA: The brother of a comedian who tragically met his fate during a trip to Colombia has reflected on the final moment when his sibling calmly asked him for money but little did he know that the victim was held at gunpoint. While speaking to The Sun, Eh Xiong opened up on the final conversation he had with Tou Ger Xiong, a US activist who was tortured and killed in December 2023.

Eh received a call from his brother, Tou Ger, on December 10, when he was spending a few weeks with friends in Medellín, Colombia. Also, a world traveler and Hmong activist, Tou Ger was known to visit exotic places while making friends at each stop.

What did Tou Ger Xiong’s brother Eh Xiong say?

"My brother, he always sees the very best in people," Eh said in an exclusive conversation with the outlet, adding "If you have a thousand faults, he'll never find them. If you have a single good thing, he'll find it. He sees the very best in you. Unfortunately, he's always let his guard down."

Eh Xiong said it was not out of ordinary when Tou Ger Xiong asked him to send money

Tou Ger had called Eh that day to ask him to wire him some money which Eh said wasn't out of the ordinary. The comedian spent a lot of time abroad and would make his money day trading, but because of stipulations with money-transferring services like Zelle, he couldn't access all of his funds. Eh was on a trip and was about to board a flight home.

He told Tou Ger that he would quickly send the money before taking off and just asked that he confirm it went through. However, Eh said that he didn't get a text or call from Tou Ger once his plane landed but he was not much bothered about the silence and went to sleep.

Eh's other sibling called him the following day to ask if he had heard from Tou Ger, and Eh told him about the conversation they had the previous night. It was at that moment the other brother told Eh that a friend in Colombia told him that Tou Ger had been kidnapped and was being held at gunpoint when they talked.

Eh didn't believe his sibling initially because Tou Ger sounded so normal during their conversation, but after realizing the severity of the situation, he contacted police and the embassy in Medellin.

Tou Ger Xiong was ambushed after he met up with a woman he connected with on social media

Tou Ger was ambushed after he met up with a woman he had connected with on social media, according to an investigation. The authorities came to know about it after Tou Ger posted pictures of himself hanging out with Colombian women whom he called his "girlfriends."

A group of men kidnapped him and contacted his friends and family to demand money threatening they would kill him in an instant. One day after he was abducted, Tou Ger's body was found floating in the La Corcovado ravine with multiple stab wounds and bruises.

A medical examiner's report shared by Tou Ger's family said that he suffered horrifying abuse at the hands of the men and multiple large wounds were found on his face and scalp.
