Hilary Duff pays tribute to late ex-bf Aaron Carter onstage by wearing T-shirt with his photo
PHILADELPHIA, PENNSYLVANIA: Hilary Duff honored her ex, Aaron Carter, on stage four years after his untimely death. The rapper and singer was 34 when he died in Lancaster, California, in November 2022 after accidentally drowning in his bathtub.

Duff publicly paid tribute to Carter by wearing a white graphic T-shirt featuring a photo of him as a child while performing during her Philadelphia stop on 'The Lucky Me' tour on Sunday, August 9.

The singer, 38, and Carter reportedly dated on and off from 2001 to 2004 while they were both teenagers.
The ‘I Want Candy’ hitmaker even made a cameo in a 2001 episode of Duff’s Disney Channel series 'Lizzie McGuire,' titled 'Aaron Carter’s Coming to Town.'

Duff's tribute came months after she shared on the 'Las Culturistas' podcast that Carter's spirit visited her through a psychic.
The ‘Roommates’ singer said, as per PEOPLE, “I'm friends with Aaron Carter's sister still, Angel. Our kids go to the same school. She's a lovely literal angel of a person. We're very close. We talk about Aaron often.”
Duff then went on to describe one of her experiences with a psychic.
“I get on the phone with her and she's like, ‘Oh, you have such bright energy. I'm so excited to talk to you today.’ And I was like, ‘Oh, thank you. That's so nice. How do we start? I don't know. Should I just start asking you questions?’” she stated.
The mother of four further explained that the psychic was “like, ‘Well, people are going to start showing up for you. And there's someone here, Aaron, two a’s, Aaron.’”
“I was like, ‘Oh my God. Is it Aaron Carter?’ And she's like, ‘Sure is. What the hell is he doing here?’ And I was like, ‘Well, that’s my childhood boyfriend. That would make sense to me.’ And she’s like, ‘Are you Hilary Duff?’” Duff added.

Earlier, following Carter's death, the actress paid tribute to him on social media.
At the time, she wrote, “I am deeply sorry that life was so hard and that you had to struggle in front of the whole world. You had a charm that was absolutely effervescent.”
“Boy, did my teenage self love you deeply. Sending love to your family at this time. Rest easy,” Duff added.
