LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Alyssa Milano, the actress and activist has faced a lot of criticism and backlash sincer she launched a fundraiser for her son’s baseball team on X.

After calling out the critics soon after the fundraiser, Milano now revealed the horrid messages that some trolls left on her 12-year-old son’s Instagram page.

Alyssa Milano started a GoFundMe page for her son’s baseball team in May 2023

On January 25, 2024, Alyssa Milano shared a post on X, asking for fans to help raise money for her son Milo Thomas’ baseball team’s group trip.

She wrote, “My son’s baseball team is raising money for their Cooperstown trip. Any amount would be so greatly appreciated. You can read more about the team and make a donation here.”

She included a link to the GoFundMe page she and her husband, David Bugliari, created in May 20231. The page sought $10,000 for the team’s travel fund on the since deleted post. 

Alyssa Milano faced backlash and criticism for asking for donations

After Milano shared the link, her name quickly became a trending topic on X. Many users slammed her for asking for donations, questioning why she could not cover the costs herself.

Some users pointed out her net worth and her roles in popular TV shows like 'Charmed' and 'Who’s the Boss?.'

Milano responded to the criticism on X on January 26, 2024, saying that she had paid for the uniforms, birthday parties, and monthly dues for the team, and that the kids also did their own fundraising activities.

She thanked the donors and said, "You’ve made things easier for these boys and their families."



 

 

Alyssa Milano’s son Milo defended his mmother and asked the trolls to leave him alone

On February 1, 2024, Milano posted an Instagram message, sharing screenshots of the hateful messages that some people left on her son Milo’s Instagram page, E!Online reported. 

She said, "Regardless of how you feel about me, going on to my hardworking 12 year old son’s Instagram page and leaving these kinds of messages is so horrid. Leave the kids alone. Let them play baseball."

The screenshots showed that one of the trolls called Milano’s fundraiser “beyond ridiculous and selfish” and told her son to “talk to your mom.”

Milo, however, defended his mother replying, “You do realize I’m only 12 and I love my mom. My mom is the greatest human of all time. She does everything for everyone.”

Alyssa Milano defends her decision of launching fundraiser for son's baseball team again

In the same post Milano forst explained why she launched the fundraiser for her son's base ball team. 

"Every parent raises money for their child’s sports teams and many of them do so through GoFundMe. I am no different," she wrote

"As much as I’d love to pay for the entire team and their families for travel, transportation, hotel, food and beverage, uniforms, trading pins and all the things teams do for this kind of trip—I can not afford to do so.

"Maybe someday. Also, if I did pay for everyone—my trolls would find something else to be hurtful about," she wrote. 

She added, "If you are against donating—don’t donate. If you’d like to donate to help the team’s families — we appreciate it—the link is in his bio."
