JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA: Republican presidential hopeful Ron DeSantis announced dropping out of the race on January 21 through a video message posted on social media.

While thanking all his supporters for their efforts, the Florida Governor stated his endorsement of the former President and current GOP presidential frontrunner Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

Ron DeSantis listed out reasons for his campaign

"Greetings from Florida," he began. "The warmth of being at home is a reminder of why I chose public service…"

"And it reminds me why I decided to run for President. To fight for those who have been forgotten in this country," he said.

"This is America's time for choosing. We can choose to allow border invasion or we can choose to stop it. We can choose reckless borrowing and spending, or we can choose to limit government and lower inflation. We can choose political indoctrination or we can choose classical education," he continued.

"These choices are symptoms of the underlying struggle to ensure that the constitutional government can endure and that Western civilization can survive."

DeSantis claimed that his campaign was launched to make the federal government accountable.

"The DC elites who facilitated this mess do not care about you and they do not work for you, they work for themselves…" he rambled on, noting that it required leadership "that delivers big results for the people" to address the issue.

"I have a record of leading with conviction, championing an agenda marked by bold colors, delivering on my promises, and defeating the people who are responsible for our nation's decline. That is the type of leadership we need for all of America."

"Over the last few months, Casey (wife) and I have traveled across the country to deliver a message of hope, that decline is a choice and we can, in fact, succeed again as a nation," he stated.

"Nobody worked harder, and we left it all out on the field."

The governor said that his team deliberated on a way forward after their second-place finish in the Iowa caucus.

"If anything I could do to provide a more favorable outcome, I would do it. But I can't ask my supporters to volunteer their time and donate their resources if we don't have a clear path to victory."

"Accordingly, I am today suspending my campaign. I am proud to have delivered 100% of my promises, and I will not stop now," he announced, before acknowledging the favor enjoyed by Donald Trump among the Republican voters and pledging to support him through the remainder of the race.
