TWIN FALLS, IDAHO: Ashley Garibay's family is remembering the young In-N-Out employee as someone who poured her heart into her work after she was among the three people killed in the mass shooting at the restaurant in Twin Falls, Idaho.

In a heartfelt statement released after the Saturday, August 1 shooting, her loved ones described Garibay as a kind and driven young woman who had dreamed of building a career with the company she loved.

Ashley Garibay dreamed of managing an In-N-Out restaurant

Garibay, 23, who was originally from Stockton, California, began working at In-N-Out in what her family described as her very first job.

According to their statement, she quickly discovered a passion for the company and embraced every opportunity that came her way.

"In-N-Out Burger was Ashley's first job, and she fell in love with it," her family told the California Post.

They said Garibay proudly traveled to help open new restaurant locations and had set her sights on becoming a store manager one day.

"She proudly traveled to open new stores, and her dream was to one day manage an In-N-Out store. She was passionate about serving customers and left this world doing what she loved to do," the family said.

Beyond her career ambitions, they described her as someone whose warmth and positivity left a lasting impression on those around her.

According to the family, Garibay was kind, adventurous, and driven, with a bright smile and an infectious laugh.

They added that she always put others first and regularly helped people through difficult times, even while dealing with challenges of her own.

Family thanks those who stayed by Ashley Garibay's side

In their emotional statement, Garibay's family also expressed gratitude to everyone who tried to help during the terrifying shooting.

"We are grateful for the In-N-Out Associates, first responders, and those nearby who rushed to Ashley's aid to comfort her in her final moments on earth," they said.

Garibay was fatally shot at the Twin Falls In-N-Out on Saturday when the attack unfolded inside the restaurant before spreading into the parking lot.

Massacre unfolded in minutes

Authorities said the shooting began shortly after 2 pm inside the Idaho restaurant before extending into the parking lot, creating what police described as a fast-moving and chaotic scene.

Witnesses said the gunman, identified as 24-year-old Chad Williams, appeared to be carrying an AR-style rifle as he emerged from the drive-thru.

As the violence unfolded, two armed bystanders returned fire while In-N-Out employees rushed to help those who had been wounded.

Officials said one employee pulled an injured co-worker across the parking lot before first responders reached the scene, underscoring the desperate efforts made to save lives during the attack.

Authorities later said Williams acted alone and was found dead from an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound.
