WASHINGTON, DC: On July 15, Donald Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, unveiled his choice for vice president: JD Vance.

Although Candace Owens, a prominent Republican commentator and vocal Trump supporter, has consistently backed Trump in the past, she has expressed considerable dissatisfaction with his recent selection for the vice presidential slot.

Candace Owens criticizes JD Vance's foreign policy views

In a recent social media post, Owens delivered a pointed critique of Vance’s stance on foreign policy.

Owens shared a segment from Vance’s recent Fox News interview, which took place during the Republican National Convention, with a critical comment aimed at Vance’s views on Middle Eastern affairs.

She wrote: “Like is it possible for us to get one effing person in office who doesn’t immediately speak about how we need to continue bombing the Middle East?” Her frustration was further emphasized with a clear message: “We do not need to do ANYTHING with Iran.”

In the Fox News interview excerpt that Owens highlighted, Vance articulated a strong position on Iran’s role in global conflicts. He stated, “A lot of people recognize that we need to do something with Iran. But not these weak little bombing runs.”

Vance criticized the approach of limited military actions, asserting, “If you’re gonna punch the Iranians, you punch them hard.” He was referring to the controversial January 2020 decision by Trump to authorize the assassination of Iranian General Qassem Soleimani.

Vance also reflected on the broader impacts of that decision, suggesting, “By the way, that action — people said that it would lead to broader war. It actually brought peace."

"It actually checked the Iranians and slowed them down a little bit.” He praised Trump’s foreign policy achievements, particularly highlighting “maybe the most important diplomatic breakthrough of the Trump administration was The Abraham Accords.”

Vance concluded his remarks by advocating for a more assertive stance against Iran, criticizing President Joe Biden’s handling of the situation, and expressing confidence that Trump would restore a more effective policy.
