NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Fox News host Jesse Watters recently slammed the ruling by the Colorado Supreme Court which disqualified former president Donald Trump from appearing on the state’s primary ballot.

The disqualification was made under the 14th Amendment of the US Constitution and is related to the Capitol riot on January 6, 2021.

The court’s majority wrote, “We do not reach these conclusions lightly. We are mindful of the magnitude and weight of the questions now before us. We are likewise mindful of our solemn duty to apply the law, without fear or favor, and without being swayed by public reaction to the decisions that the law mandates we reach."

Following the news, the ‘Jesse Watters Primetime' host took to X (formerly Twitter) to share his take on Trump being kicked off the Colorado ballot. The internet. however, did not respond positively to Watters’ tweet as several X users slammed the Fox News host and asked him to "stop whining".

Jesse Watters reacts to Donald Trump’s disqualification from Colorado ballot

Fox News host Jesse Watters took to X and wrote, “This attack on Trump is a judicial assassination and this legal fever is spreading. While the left screams democracy, Democrat lawyers are arresting America's leading presidential candidate, raiding his house, stripping his business license, and censoring his speech.”

In his monologue, Watters reportedly connected Donald Trump to Abraham Lincoln when the latter was kicked off the ballot by Southern Democrats in 1860.

He said, “Instead of trying to win an election with persuasion, southern democrats booted Lincoln off the ballot in 10 states. But even that wasn’t enough. Lincoln became the first president ever to be elected with less than 50% of the vote. And then the civil war broke out the next year and Abraham Lincoln was later assassinated.”

Watters tried to relate the Lincoln situation to Trump’s by adding, “History always has a way of repeating itself.”

“Last night, just like Southern Democrats did to Lincoln, the Colorado Supreme Court vanished Trump from the ballot,” Watters added.

Watters then went on to express his frustration with this decision and said, “You can’t find somebody guilty of a crime that they haven’t been charged with. In a 4-3 ruling, the Colorado Supreme Court said Trump engaged in insurrection. Under the 14th Amendment, insurrectionists are constitutionally prohibited from holding office.”

He continued, “The Democrat judges said Trump’s an insurrectionist because he once told a crowd that in ‘the old days, a protester would be carried out in a stretcher.’”

Watters further said, “Every time Trump’s arrested, he becomes more powerful in the eyes of the voters. What’s going to happen when they take him off the ballot? They’re turning Trump into the greatest political underdog America’s ever witnessed. They’re setting up the greatest comeback story in American political history.”

“They say they’re protecting us from danger, but Trump’s not a danger to us, he’s a danger to them. And Americans are starting to ask themselves why. It feels like the left wants violence because that’s where this is going. We’re being baited so their actions are justified. That’s how it feels. The more the left overplays their hand, the scarier this gets,” Watters concluded.

Internet slams Jesse Watters for backing Donald Trump

After Jesse Watters shared his opinion on Donald Trump being removed from the Colorado ballot, several X users slammed the Fox News host.

One person wrote, “Umm in that halfassed analysis you offered up there did you consider that all these things that are happening to Trump are due to his own making ..nah..couldn’t be..Trump is beyond reproach 👀😂😂😂.”

Another mocked Watters and wrote, “Jesse, you need to keep up. We know what you’re doing,” while one said, “No, the courts are prosecuting a private citizen accused of serious crimes.”

An X user simply said, “Democratic lawyers?  There is no bottom to your depravity,” while another wrote, “Stop whining. You should be embarrassed.”

“He tried to overthrow the government A**hole!” said another expressing their frustration.
