WASHINGTON, DC: Former President Donald Trump labeled himself a "proud political dissident" during a speech at the Conservative Political Action Conference (CPAC) on Saturday, February 24, as reported by the Associated Press.

Addressing conservative activists ahead of his decisive victory in the South Carolina GOP primary, the ex-POTUS also argued the November presidential election day would be "judgment day" as he prepares for a potential rematch with President Joe Biden.

"For hardworking Americans, November 5 will be our new liberation day. But for the liars and cheaters and fraudsters and censors and imposters who have commandeered our government, it will be judgment day," said Trump to a cheering crowd.

The GOP frontrunner asserted, "When we win, the curtain closes on their corrupt reign, and the sun rises on a bright new future for America."

Days after likening himself to Alexei Navalny, a prominent critic of Russian President Vladimir Putin who died in a remote Arctic prison, Trump noted, "I stand before you today only as your past and hopefully future president but as a proud political dissident. I am a dissident."

Donald Trump says a vote for him is a 'ticket back to freedom' for American citizens

Trump doubled down on his attack against the Biden administration, drawing attention to their apparent inability to resolve the worsening migrant crisis.

The former president cautioned that due to "hoards of illegal aliens stampeding across our borders," the nation's social safety net and education system would "buckle and collapse," claiming "the gangs will be invading your territory."

Labeling Biden's presidency as "an express train barreling toward servitude and to ruin," the White House hopeful stated, "These are the stakes of this election: Our country is being destroyed, and the only thing standing between you and its obliteration is me."

He remarked, "A vote for Trump is your ticket back to freedom, it's your passport out of tyranny, and it's your only escape from Joe Biden and his gang's fast track to hell. And in many ways, we're living in hell right now."

Along with possible Trump VP picks like Vivek Ramaswamy and Rep Elise Stefanik, the CPAC had the attendance of foreign leaders like El Salvador President Nayib Bukele, former British Prime Minister Liz Truss, and the right-wing populist president of Argentina Javier Milei.

With his consecutive victories in the GOP primaries, Trump is awaiting the March 5 Super Tuesday, when more than a dozen states will vote to select their presidential nominee.

One remarked, "Pathetic. What an absolutely pathetic man," and another noted, "So disgusting. How do Republicans look in the mirror and support this truly horrible person?"

Someone else expressed, "No, he's just a crook who got caught. He should have stayed out of the spotlight of the presidency."

"Disgusting, such a lack of respect for real dissidents who lost their lives for their ideals," pointed out an individual. One more added, "Oh my god. He’s a disaster not a dissident."
