NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: New York City Mayor Eric Adams blamed the White House on Tuesday, December 12, for what he perceived as a failure to adequately address the border crisis.

Adams emphasized the administration's need for a better understanding of "basic things" related to migrant challenges in the city, stressing the urgency of tackling the situation within the context of New York City.

Subsequently, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X (formerly Twitter) to report on Adams' views on immigration. Despite Hannity's tweet, the internet responded negatively, with several X users delivering a brutal jab at the mayor.

Sean Hannity reports on Eric Adams' remarks about immigration

Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “ADAMS ON IMMIGRATION: 'Cities Should Not Be Carrying the Burden of a National Crisis' [WATCH] ADAMS: “I’m just not seeing the White House and their colleagues up there understanding that we need a decompression strategy."

Hannity’s tweet featured an article from his official website titled, “ADAMS ON IMMIGRATION: 'Cities Should Not Be Carrying the Burden of a National Crisis' [WATCH].”

In the article, it was stated that Adams' comments follow closely on the heels of his recent visit to Washington DC, where he sought assistance in addressing New York City's migrant crisis.

Expressing his frustration, Adams stated during his weekly press conference, "I’m just not seeing the White House and their colleagues up there understanding that we need a decompression strategy. We should be funding this on a national level, we must make sure we allow people to work. You know, basic things.”

Detailing his efforts, Adams mentioned, “I’ve been to DC 10 times and each time I laid out a case on why the city — that’s the economic engine of the state and the country — should not be going through this,” he added, “walking out, I did not see the level of urgency.”

In another context, Adams suggested that a recent decline in his approval rating could be attributed to his administration grappling with the national asylum seeker situation, despite the perception that he was effectively managing City Hall.

He stated, "This has been a successful administration that got hit with a national crisis that I don't know who would have been able to navigate it the way we've been able to navigate it. When you're in the midst of the storm, it's hard to see."

This follows a Quinnipiac poll from last week, revealing that his approval rating had plummeted to 28%, the lowest recorded for a New York City mayor in the university's quarter-century history of surveying voters.

Additionally, 66% of registered voters polled expressed disapproval of the mayor's handling of the migrant crisis.

Internet slams Eric Adams over migrant crisis

After Sean Hannity reported on Eric Adams’ slamming the White House on the immigration crisis, many X users blasted the mayor instead.

One person wrote, “He's the biggest hypocrite of all. DemocRat's are Hypocrites when it comes to immigration,” and another said, “It's so great watching a democrat crap all over fellow democrats and their cities and states... karma is a b***h.”

An X user simply slammed Adams saying, “Oh ! Now it’s a National crisis when it impacts Democrats! You made your bed,” and another had a similar opinion, “Come on...you were part of the problem to start with. You knew biden didn't care about America and you still ran as a democrat.”

One more user called out Adams adding, “One term Mayor has made a nice mess with his partners in DC. He welcomed them now he regrets them.”

Another said, “He wanted to be a sanctuary city..Well he has it now."
