NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: Former GOP Presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy reportedly faced jeering from the audience when he mentioned former President Donald Trump at the Libertarian National Convention on Friday, May 24.

According to the Daily Beast, the event took place at the Washington Hilton in Washington, DC, where Trump is supposed to speak the next day.

What did Vivek Ramaswamy say about Donald Trump at the convention?

"I have gotten to know Donald Trump over the last several years, and the last several months and you’re gonna hear from him tomorrow night! And the question is do you want to influence the next administration or don’t you?” Ramaswamy asked on stage at the event, leading to the audience booing his speech.

The biotech entrepreneur tried to make a recovery, saying, "You all get to speak your mind, I respect that. Libertarians in the room gotta speak up," but the jibes and laughter from those gathered continued.

"But, the question is, how do you get it done? I believe the future of this country depends on a libertarian-nationalist alliance that will save this country,” he went on.

Ramaswamy tried to explain why he felt people who do not fully support the presumptive GOP nominee should vote in his favor, but the audience reportedly shouted over him at that point.

"Are you going to agree with him on 100 percent of what he says? Do I agree with 100 percent of his policy positions? No,” he stated but claimed that Trump had a real shot at the presidency.

His words were then drowned out by angry shouts of “No!” reported the Daily Beast.

According to Politico, several delegates at the convention are planning to protest Trump's speech on Saturday. The subject has reportedly split the organization and resulted in verbal as well as physical altercations between the two factions.
