CHARLOTTE, NORTH CAROLINA: Social media users went on to share their opinions recently after an evangelical pastor expressed harsh criticism of former president Donald Trump's $60 MAGA Bible and accused him of committing blasphemy.

The pastor also bashed the individuals who went forward and purchased the controversial merchandise.

Recently, Trump was heavily scrutinized online after former attorney general Bill Barr revealed how the former POTUS used to rant about executing his political rivals whenever he was frustrated while serving his term as president in office.

Donald Trump's MAGA bible bashed by pastor

The Daily Mail reported that pastor Loran Livingston had some fiery words about Donald Trump's MAGA bible, calling it downright disgusting.

During his sermon at the Central Church of North Carolina in Charlotte, he didn't hold back in criticizing the former POTUS' merchandise.

The 'God Bless the USA' Bible, priced at $60, four times more expensive than a regular one, supposedly to help cover Trump's legal bills, hit the shelves just in March, according to reports.

This special edition of the Bible also includes additional items like copies of the US Constitution, the Bill of Rights, the Declaration of Independence, and even a handwritten version of the chorus from Lee Greenwood's famous song 'God Bless the USA'.

But all these add-ons, along with the American flag on the leather cover, disturbed pastor Livingston. He accused anyone buying it of not truly understanding God's word.

According to the Daily Mail, Livingston said, "When you say, 'Wow, there's a Bible out now that includes the Constitution and the Bill of rights! Isn't that wonderful?' No, no. It's disgusting! It's blasphemous! It's a ploy!"

He joked about Christians who found solace in the Trump-branded Bible, equating it to finding inspiration in the US Constitution.

Livingston didn't hold back and added, "A document that says, 'We are of the people, by the people, and for the people.' The people, the people, the people! And you have put it right beside the word of God, which is eternal, unchanging, which says of him, by him, through him, to him, from him are all things. And you're going to put those together and be happy about it? God forbid!"

Livingston reportedly firmly believed that those who praised Trump's Bible were ignorant of God's true intentions. "If you glory in that kind of thing, you don't have a prayer life. If you glory in that kind of mess, political mess, you do not know what the word of God says," he remarked.

The website selling the 'God Bless the USA' Bible proudly boasts it as "the only Bible endorsed by President Trump!"

Described as "easy-to-read" with "large print" and a "slim design", it's supposed to make exploring God's word present everywhere.

However, despite claims to the contrary, the website insists the Bible has nothing to do with funding Trump's political campaigns.

Internet divided as Trump's MAGA Bible is called 'blasphemous'

Social media users had mixed reactions to the pastor slamming Donald Trump's Bible.

One internet user commented, "Trump is not religious regardless of what he portrays. As a President, he should know that mixing church and state is considered a no no."

Another said, "There is nothing wrong with respecting, both, the Bible and the Constitution. Their relationship to each other is not something to become upset about. It might be best to direct any disappointment at the serious problems now facing the country, such as the open borders, inflation, and national debt."

One person wrote, "What about the money made from religion that the pastor makes that allows him to live a life of excess. The majority of the money comes from people who can barely get by. At least Trump has an actual product and doesn't make people feel obligated to give up their money for nothing in return."

Another added, "I don't care but I get why he is mad. These historical documents and that counted song are the works of men. The Bible is supposed to be treated as holy, at least that is how I was brought up."

One individual stated, "I agree with this pastor on the matter. I will also be voting for Trump. He doesn’t have to be perfect or always right. He has to be the best choice of the options presented. And he is. By a long shot. I won’t be looking to Trump for my spiritual guidance. I’ll be looking to him to run the country."

Another added, "Combining the Bible with the US Constitution, Pledge of Allegiance, and the lyrics to God Bless the USA perfectly sums up the evangelical base for Trump."
