NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: In a recent social media post, Jesse Watters took aim at President Joe Biden's contentious claims while also addressing assertions made by former President Donald Trump regarding the Justice Department.

"Joe Biden has always been a storyteller," Watters said in his post, which accompanied his monologue on his show.

What Watters said about Biden and Michael Rockefeller

"In 1961, the heir to an American dynasty, Michael Rockefeller, disappeared [...] The prevailing theory is that he was eaten by cannibals, not sharks. Historians still believe a photo of a white man with a cannibal tribe may be Rockefeller," Watters said on the show.

"Last year, 'Primetime' interviewed a Rockefeller investigator who visited the cannibal tribe," he added, after playing a short clip from a documentary based on Rockefeller. However, Watters said that the truth about Biden's uncle Bosie's disappearance is actually different. He was a passenger on a plane that crashed in the Pacific due to engine failure, and a survivor never mentioned cannibalism.

"No one takes this more seriously than New Guinea. Diplomatic relations between the United States and New Guinea have now hit an all-time low. Turns out, you accuse a country of eating your uncle, they don't take it lightly. Countries have gone to war over much less," the host quipped.

Meanwhile, Watters' X post continued, "Usually, he’s stealing stories from the Kennedys, Hubert Humphrey or British diplomats, but now he's swiping from the Rockefeller."

Who was Michael Rockefeller?

Michael Rockefeller was a member of the wealthy and influential Rockefeller family, known for their prominence in American business, politics, and philanthropy. He gained fame due to his mysterious disappearance in 1961, which sparked widespread media attention and speculation.

Michael was the son of New York Governor Nelson Rockefeller, who later became the Vice President of the United States under President Gerald Ford. The Rockefeller family was one of the wealthiest and most influential families in America, with a long history of business success and political involvement.

Michael Rockefeller's disappearance occurred during an expedition to the Asmat region of New Guinea. The prevailing theory at the time was that he was eaten by cannibals, although this has never been conclusively proven. His disappearance and the subsequent speculation surrounding it captured the public's imagination and contributed to his enduring fame.

Biden's claims about late uncle

Meanwhile, AP News reported President Joe Biden misspoke about crucial details regarding his uncle's death in World War II while honoring his wartime service and contrasting it with Donald Trump's fitness to serve as commander in chief.

During a speech in Pittsburgh, Biden spoke about his uncle, 2nd Lt Ambrose J Finnegan Jr, seeking to highlight reports that Trump had disparaged fallen service members as "suckers" and "losers" during his presidency.

Biden mentioned that Finnegan, his mother's brother, "was shot down in New Guinea." However, he made an error by stating that Finnegan's body was never recovered and mentioned the presence of cannibals in the area.

Biden later repeated a similar version of the story while visiting a memorial in Scranton but was again inaccurate in some details.

As per the Pentagon's Defense POW/MIA Accounting Agency, President Biden's uncle, affectionately known as "Bosie" within the family, tragically died on May 14, 1944.

He was aboard an Army Air Forces plane that had to make an emergency landing in the Pacific Ocean off the northern coast of New Guinea due to unknown reasons.

The agency's documentation of Finnegan's incident reveals that both engines failed at a low altitude, resulting in the aircraft's nose striking the water forcefully.

Three individuals, including Finnegan, did not survive the crash and were lost in the sinking wreckage.

Netizens agree with Watters' criticism

Social media rallied behind Watters for his comments.

One X user noted, "Joe, the storyteller."

Another wrote, "He was the original AI."

Someone else said, "Maybe Cornpop ate Bozie."

Another viewer observed, "Jesse, the comedy in this one is classic."

"JB is a habitual liar...was in the 80's and bigger mow.." one comment read.

"His constant lying leaves a bad taste in the mouth," another said.
