Internet in splits as Daniel Tosh's claim of Kylie Jenner expecting Timothee Chalamet's baby gets busted
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Comedian Daniel Tosh famously claimed that Kylie Jenner is pregnant with the child of Timothee Chalamet. Sources with direct knowledge about the Jenner-Kardashian family have, however, quashed the claim, saying the rumor is absolutely “not true”.
During the Tuesday, April 2, episode of his ‘Tosh Show’ podcast, the 48-year-old comedian shared his suspicion that the youngest Jenner sister might be carrying the ‘Dune’ star’s baby. Sources, nevertheless, busted the claim almost immediately as they shared with TMZ that Tosh’s claim was false.
Daniel Tosh claims he was told the news by a supermarket employee
Daniel Tosh’s wild claim regarding ‘The Kardashian’ star’s pregnancy sent the world into a frenzy as the podcast aired on April 2, Bellingham Herald said.
During the episode, he told his audience, "Here's something crazy," before adding, "I went to the grocery store in Malibu, and I was talking to an employee there.” He also implied that he tries to avoid gossip, nevertheless, he got wind of it when he asked the employee why they were closed the previous day.
Tosh continued, “I try to avoid it but I was talking to this guy, and I said, ‘Why were you guys closed yesterday?' He goes, ‘Well, I'm not supposed to discuss it, but Keeping Up With the Kardashians, the show, was filming their season finale here yesterday."
While the ‘KUWTK’ has stopped airing since 2021, the Kardashian-Jenner family continues with their life documentary in the revamped show ‘The Kardashians’ which is expecting the fifth season in May 2024.
After cautioning the fans of the show, Tosh said, "Spoiler alert, this is for the upcoming season of the show.”
He explained, "This is the big season finale. This random grocery store person is telling me that they rented out the entire store, shut it down, and then, they acted like they were grocery shopping."
The ‘Heckler’ star shared that he heard the reality TV family was shooting for an upcoming sequence where Kylie would be announcing her alleged pregnancy.
Tosh shared that the scene purportedly shows "Kylie [revealing] that she's pregnant with Timothee's kid."
Despite sharing the piece of news, Tosh himself conceded that the rumor was probably untrue and he cannot vouch for the legitimacy of the news.
He acknowledged, "This might not be true," before adding, "I am not verifying anything. This is what an employee at a grocery store in Malibu told me."
His claims were later busted by sources who told TMZ that the news of Kylie's pregnancy was false.
Kylie Jenner and Timothee Chalamet’s relationship timeline
Kylie Jenner, who has a daughter Stormi, six, and a son, Aire, two, with her ex Travis Scott, sparked relationship rumors with the ‘Wonka’ star at the beginning of 2023.
The couple went public during a cozy outing at Beyonce’s concert in September, where they were seen kissing each other.
They later appeared together at the US Open and Golden Globes 2024 together as well.
Apart from the three events, the Kylie Cosmetics founder and Chalamet have not made many public appearances.
The 26-year-old business mogul was not seen with Chalamet when he was promoting his sci-fi film ‘Dune 2’ in February.
In March, the mother-of-two refused to comment about her relationship with Chalamet when she was asked whether her boyfriend has inspired her style.
‘The Kardashian’ star said, “I don't know how I feel about that. I just don't want to talk about personal things."
Internet thinks it's an April Fool's Day prank by Daniel Tosh
Internet was disappointed with Daniel Tosh's statement as they strongly criticized the comedian for the unsubstantiated comment. Some of the social media users even postulated that was an April Fool's Day prank.
One fan commented on Facebook, "And if Kylie was then that’s her business."
Another social media bemoaned, "There used to be a time women could be pregnant or not and it was their business."
"Why would anyone take Daniel Tosh seriously?" asked another user.
One person commented, "Tosh is a comedian so I have a feeling this was probably a joke that got taken outof context, and people took literally, because nobody understands the concept of humor any more."
Another fan asked, "Is Tosh trying to get another 15 minutes of fame? Where’s he been?!"
One fan chimed in, "Taking to court for making false statements ! Very irresponsible not cool at all."
Another commented, "Where the hell has tosh been and why would he know ? 😂"
Meanwhile, another fan sounded surprised as they said, "I didn’t realize tosh was still doing comedy I haven’t seen him in a decade."
"That’s her story to tell if she is," declared one person.
However, some of the fans hypothesized it was probably an April Fool's Day prank, with one of them quipping, "April Fools people 🙄," another user added, "It was April fools day lol."
