Internet labels Trump 'wannabe dictator' as he discloses new debate format for upcoming clash with Biden
WASHINGTON, DC: Despite his great desire to stand, Donald Trump disclosed on Wednesday, May 22, that he has consented to 'sit at a table' with Joe Biden for their upcoming debates, according to the New York Post.
According to Trump, the 81-year-old president's campaign team requested the sitting style. Trump told John Catsimatidis and Rita Cosby during an appearance on the 'Cats & Cosby Show' on WABC 770 AM, "I hear now we’re sitting at tables. I don’t want to sit at a table."

Trump added, "I said, 'No, let's stand'. But they want to sit at a table. So we'll be sitting at a table as opposed to doing it the way you should be, in my opinion, in a debate."
Moreover, in his explanation, Trump stated that he would prefer to 'walk out to a podium' and 'stand for an hour and a half or two hours'.
Declaring the sitting debate format to be 'one of the many' demands made by the Biden campaign, Trump said, "But they have [Biden] sitting at a table, so that’s not so good".
Trump informed Catsimatidis and Cosby that he would push Biden over the disorganized US pullout from Afghanistan in 2021. He said, "But I agree to their requests because I want to debate him. If [Biden] gets through the debate, they’ll say it was brilliant."
Notably, the camps for Trump and Biden have agreed to participate in the two planned debates, which are set for June 27 on CNN and September 10 on ABC News. It's uncertain if both debates will follow the sitting format.
Moreover, as requested by the Biden campaign, there won't be a live audience at either forum. The nonpartisan Commission on Presidential Debates (CPD), which has arranged the head-to-head events since the 1988 election cycle, is eliminated from the agreement between the two camps.
Although there hasn't been any agreement on the specifics of the vice-presidential debate, both camps have indicated that they would be prepared to take part. Trump would rather have Fox News present the presidential debate, while Biden wants it to appear on CBS.
Internet reacts to Trump's new format for debate with Biden
Several internet users slammed Donald Trump as he revealed a new format for the forthcoming debate with Joe Biden where the two will be sitting at a table instead of standing on a podium.
Some of the online comments read, "Wannabe dictators like Trump have no right to exist. Authoritarianism is not a legitimate form of government, any person who intends to govern in an authoritative dictatorial manner has no right to hold public office," and "Trump is never going to debate. Just like he didn’t testify."
Another comment read, "It’s funny cuz it’s true.. exactly TrumpCult’s reaction," whereas one added, "Trump will never debate. He can't rile up the Maga cult followers and ramble nonsensical blabber. Can't call people names and interrupt. Might have to actually know something about issues since he actually ran without a platform last time."
A user also stated, "This debate from two senile men is going to be embarrassing," whereas one mentioned, "Trump said he would debate any time, any place. Now the maga crowd is crying foul because they know that he will go down in flames if he has to follow rules."
