WASHINGTON, DC: Former Representative George Santos asked his former colleagues in the House on Saturday, May 4, if they would prepare a resolution to remove Representative Henry Cuellar, according to The Hill.

Santos stated in a post on X aimed at Rep Ritchie Torres, "Hey @RitchieTorres are you going to draft an expulsion resolution for Henry Cuellar? Or is that just for republicans who flip seats? Inquiring minds want to know."

Rep Robert Garcia, Torres, Reps Dan Goldman, Becca Balint, and Eric Sorensen introduced a resolution to remove Santos back in February 2023. Later in the year, Santos was expelled from the House, making history as the sixth legislator to be removed from the lower house.

Santos said in another post on X on Saturday, "So here’s the thing… is miss thang @RepRobertGarcia going to draft an expulsion resolution for Henry Cuellar? Inquiring minds want to know."

Notably, Cuellar and his spouse were charged on Friday, May 3, with accepting nearly $600,000 in bribes and money laundering. The Department of Justice (DOJ) indictment addressed money that the Texas Democrat allegedly received through a Mexican bank and an Azerbaijani government-owned oil business.

The DOJ stated in a press release on the indictment in the Southern District of Texas, "The bribe payments were allegedly laundered, pursuant to sham consulting contracts, through a series of front companies and middlemen into shell companies owned by Imelda Cuellar, who performed little to no legitimate work under the contracts."

In a statement released as part of his campaign, Cuellar said, "My wife and I are innocent of these allegations," adding, "Everything I have done in Congress has been to serve the people of South Texas."

A user wrote on X, "Two gold bars!!! Priceless! Those two Clowns know who they are!!!" while one added, "Hey George…. I’m seeing a discrimination pattern here: “Santos, Cuellar and Mendez” - coincidence ?"

A person said, "Oh the hypocrisy!!! The Dems circle the wagons the republicans circle the firing squad," whereas one mentioned, "Aww if it isn’t Mr. Credit Card fraud."

A user wrote, "You're the laughing stock of America. A real genuine piece of s**t. Such a sorry a** life you live."
