Jamaal Bowman pranked by a parody account

According to a report by the New York Post, Bowman and his team fell for a prank involving a fake 'Chief Rabbi of Gaza' on social media. This parody account, posing as "Rabbi Linda Goldstein", is known for its anti-Zionist views, which some find amusing but can deceive unsuspecting individuals.

The fake rabbi reached out to Bowman about hosting a fundraiser for his Democratic primary campaign.

Screenshots of the conversation on X show Goldstein messaging Bowman on April 11, stating, "I really hope you win, I would love to host a fundraiser with you."

Bowman's account responded within 30 minutes, expressing gratitude and asking, “Thank you, how do we get in touch with you?”

Goldstein claimed to have raised significant funds in the past and expressed eagerness to support Bowman's campaign with her "anti-Zionist community".

Bowman's team responded, thanking the rabbi and saying, “Hi Rabbi, this is Bowman’s staff, we’ll have a member of our finance team follow up with you. We’re grateful," the New York Post reported.

A representative for Bowman dismissed the exchange as a routine staff response to a direct message when the prank was revealed to the world.

Internet says Rep Jamaal Bowman belongs in a carnival

After screenshots of the interaction went viral and it was revealed that the X account was a parody account, social media users brutally mocked Bowman.

One reader wrote, "Easier to believe that his constituents enthusiastically vote for him. Birdbrains of a feather, flocking together...."

Another said, "If Bowman has proved anything in his tenure in Congress it is the fact that he is not the sharpest knife in the drawer."

One individual commented, "The guy cant distinguish Pull In Case Of Fire from Push To Open Door. Ignorance is his weakness."

Another said, "It's quite clear that Mr. Bowman belongs somewhere other than in our House of Congress... unless there is a carnival."

One person wrote, "This Is. Too. Funny."

One X user tweeted, "Dude is an absolute loser. This is the political class. An anti semitic alarm pulling lying fool. Good riddance when he loses this fall."
