GASPARILLA ISLAND, FLORIDA: The ‘Tucker Carlson for VP’ rumors were getting a lot of traction in the mainstream media as well as in social media circles until the former Fox News host came on SiriusXM’s ‘The Megyn Kelly Show’ on Monday to quash the speculations himself.

Carlson told Kelly, "It's just so unimaginable. I mean, I haven’t led a life that prepares a person for politics. As I said, I don’t think I have any like horrible skeletons or anything. It’s not that, it’s just that that’s not how my brain works. I’ve never done anything like that."

Carlson expressed that he cannot imagine spending so much time with politicians.

"Serving in politics with anybody, I mean that's just — it's a lot for me to think about because I just don't think I'm really suited for that. Would anyone want to see a guy like me run for office?" Carlson asked rhetorically.

Tucker Carlson talked with Megyn Kelly shortly after launching the Tucker Carlson Network, which featured interviews with fellow Trump supporter Kid Rock and UFC president Dana White.

How did Tucker Carlson get linked to being Donald Trump’s running mate in 2024?

On November 8, 2023, Donald Trump appeared on the 'Clay Travis & Buck Sexton Show' and said, “I like Tucker a lot. I guess I would. I think I'd say I would because he's got great common sense.”

This statement by the former President caught on and people on the conservative aisle wanted to bring this mere speculation into existence considering how popular both Trump and Tucker are, as conservative personalities and voices in the mainstream.

Last week, Axios reported that former First Lady Melania Trump was pushing her husband to pick Tucker Carlson as his vice-presidential candidate ahead of the 2024 US general elections.

However, a Trump campaign aide refuted Axios' report and told the New York Post that the former president is not looking beyond the Republican primary elections.

“The Axios story is pure fiction,” the aide told the outlet. “Unless there is a formal announcement from President Trump or his campaign team, then it’s just speculation and not coming from us. President Trump is solely focused on winning the Republican nomination and then defeating Crooked Joe Biden in the general election.”

Now with Tucker Carlson expressing his unwillingness to dive right into the world of politics alongside the most popular Republican president in recent decades, hopes for a ‘Trump-Tucker’ ticket on the ballot for 2024 seem all but over.

Internet breathes a sigh of relief as Tucker is unenthused to be Trump’s VP pick

People on X who are opposed to another four years of Trump in the White House are relieved that the dynamite pairing of Trump and Tucker wouldn’t come to pass.

One X user said: “I’m relieved to hear he feels that way. A heartbeat away from the presidency is way too close for me."

Another user wrote: "Too much work and couldn't keep the grift going."

Another user tweeted: "A rare moment of honesty from Carlson ."

One X user remarked: "Probably because he hates trump passionately!"

Another user quipped: "The Vice Presidential salary isn't nearly as much as he could grift in four years."

Finally, this user tweeted: "He'd make a good Press Secretary."
