LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: During a recent interview with Donald Trump's campaign spokeswoman, Karoline Leavitt, Fox News host Jesse Watters didn't hesitate to criticize rival network CNN following a controversial incident.

Just days earlier, CNN host Kasie Hunt abruptly ended an interview with Leavitt after she criticized CNN anchor Jake Tapper.

CNN interview cut short over critique of Jake Tapper

During the CNN interview, Hunt questioned Leavitt about the Trump campaign's position on the upcoming debate between Donald Trump and Joe Biden. However, tensions escalated when Leavitt shifted the conversation to criticize Tapper's previous statements about Trump.

This led Hunt to abruptly end the interview, citing criticisms of her colleague as the reason.

"Well, first of all, it takes someone five minutes to Google Jake Tapper and Donald Trump to see that Jake Tapper has consistently..," Leavitt began before Hunt interrupted, saying, "Ma'am, we're going to stop right there if you're going to keep attacking my colleague."

Undeterred, Leavitt continued, "I am stating facts that your colleagues have stated in the past that — "

"I'm sorry, guys, we're going to come back to the panel," Hunt interjected, politely ending the interview with a dismissal. "Karoline, thank you very much for your time. You are welcome to come back at any point and speak about Donald Trump."(Foxnews)

The intense exchange resonated across social media — catching Watters' attention on Tuesday.

The incident didn't go unnoticed by Watters during his conversation with Leavitt. He quipped, "Does Jake Tapper get a mute button?" — a reference to the control CNN hosts have over interviews.

Leavitt seized the opportunity to criticize Tapper further, alleging bias and labeling him an "anti-Trump leftist and activist."

"And that's exactly what I tried to say just yesterday on CNN but apparently they don't like to hear the truth about what Jake Tapper feels about President Trump," Leavitt said.

The discussion between Watters and Leavitt then shifted to the upcoming debate, where Leavitt voiced concerns about biased moderation.

In a lighter moment, Watters broached the provocative topic of drug testing for the candidates, which has been a recent talking point in conservative circles.

"They're becoming highly agitated over the mere suggestion that Joe Biden might be artificially stimulated," she remarked.

In response, Watters quipped that he would undergo a drug test on the night of the debate "so everyone can see that I'm clean." He added jovially, "All the members of The Five will participate in the drug test, and we'll unveil the results at 6 o'clock."

Later in the interview, Watters asked Leavitt if Trump had engaged in any mock debate preparation, querying, "Even a little bit?" It turned out that Trump had not.

"No, he's continuing with his usual daily routine," she affirmed, highlighting what she viewed as one of the most "underreported stories" of the week: Biden's debate preparation.

"The leader of the free world, Joe Biden, has had to prepare for the debate for an entire week," she asserted. "He can't govern and do both! There hasn't been a single public schedule. It's genuinely concerning that he's our country's leader."

Watters concurred, stating, "It's unprecedented in our political history for a president to take a week off to prepare to do his job."

Watters concluded with a final jab at his competitor network, saying, "Karoline, thank you so much, and, um, we did not cut your mic. You're welcome."

One user commented, "She should have stayed in the restroom and purged that giant Mexican combo plate she just consumed if she wants Felon to grab her kitty."
