'The View' co-hosts panned for lauding CNN's Kasie Hunt on abruptly ending Karoline Leavitt's interview
NEW YORK POST, NEW YORK: The co-hosts of 'The View' gushed about CNN host Kasie Hunt interrupting her interview with Donald Trump's spokesperson Karoline Leavitt on Monday, June 24, citing her criticism of debate moderators Jake Tapper and Dana Bash for their perceived bias.
"That was so good," co-host Whoopi Goldberg remarked with a smile after a clip of the exchange was played, per Fox News.
Karoline Leavitt told Kasie Hunt that Donald Trump was 'knowingly going into a hostile environment'
With regard to CNN, Leavitt informed Hunt that Trump was "knowingly going into a hostile environment with debate moderators who have made their opinions about him very well known over the past eight years on this very network."
Leavitt was given the chance to return to talking about policy by an offended Hunt, but when Leavitt began focusing on Tapper once more, she abruptly ended the interview.

'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin says Donald Trump suffers from 'grievance' and 'rage'
"You are a campaign spokesperson," 'The View' co-host Alyssa Farah Griffin said. "You should be there to talk about what’s Donald Trump’s proactive agenda for the American people? How does he want to build the middle class or secure the border? But she can’t. It’s grievance. It’s rage. It’s retribution. It’s the same thing that he suffers from."
'The View ' co-host Sunny Hostin praises Kasie Hunt for handling Karoline Leavitt's interview well
Hunt's interviewing style was commended by co-host Sunny Hostin, who also echoed NBC News' Lester Holt's 2021 statement that "the idea we should always give two sides equal weight and merit does not reflect the world we find ourselves in."
"She was being fair to the truth," Hostin said, referring to Hunt. "She was trying to get to the facts. [Leavitt] refused to get to the facts … When that happens, you cut the mic. You cut the mic, and that’s what she did," Hostin continued.
Goldberg agreed and argued it was nothing new, saying, "They talk at you, not to you, and that’s what she was doing, and she was doing it, and it’s not new."
Whoopi Goldberg claims media has 'pretty much always been fair to each side'
According to Goldberg, "the media has pretty much always been fair to each side." She cited her two Republican co-hosts, Navarro and Griffin, who consistently agree with their liberal co-hosts on the GOP and Trump, as evidence that the show's co-hosts "have to tell you both sides."
"We can’t allow, on this show, to have things said that we know for a fact are not true. That’s what it used to be. That’s what it needs to go back to being, and that’s where you all come in," Goldberg said. "It’s OK to feel how you feel, but demand the truth. Demand folks fact-check what they’re telling you because what they’re telling you is important."
Karoline Leavitt was not making inaccurate statements
Leavitt, however, wasn't making false claims; rather, she was expressing his disapproval of Tapper and Bash for their disparaging remarks about the former president.
The Trump staffer informed Hunt that it would only take five minutes to look up Tapper and his analysis of the former president, following the latter's attempt to redirect the conversation back to the debate during their Monday exchange.
"Ma'am, I'm going to stop this interview if you're going to continue to attack my colleagues," Hunt said, before ending the interview.
Karoline Leavitt's comments after her CNN interview with Kasie Hunt ended abruptly
Leavitt told Fox News that CNN's actions were more proof that Trump wouldn't get fair treatment.
"CNN cutting off my microphone for bringing up a debate moderator’s history of anti-Trump lies just proves our point that President Trump will not be treated fairly in Thursday’s debate. Yet President Trump is still willing to go into this 3-1 fight to bring his winning message to the American people, and he will win," Leavitt told the outlet on Monday.
Internet says 'The View should be ignored'
Netizens berated 'The View' for supporting Hunt's unprofessional attitude towards Trump's spokesperson.
One X (formerly Twitter) user penned, "The View should be ignored until we can arrest them for hate speech/treason after Trump gets installed."
"Bash and Tapper are biased and manipulative. They will make creepy Joe look good although he doesn’t know what he is talking about or where he is," opined one.
Another added, "The View doesn't believe in freedom of speech. When ever someone with an opposing view starts to make a point, they start talking over them or cut them off altogether."
" ... I cut off The View & CNN several years ago," one echoed and another commented, "The View is a anti America disgrace."
