NEW YORK CITY, NEW YORK: President Joe Biden's celebration of Super Bowl Sunday took an unexpected turn for some as he appeared in a pre-recorded video criticizing snack companies for inflation, a move perceived by many as bizarre and ironic.

Despite the customary pre-game interview being skipped by the president, the White House's social media account shared a video featuring Biden discussing the concept of "Shrinkflation."

Following this news, Fox News host Sean Hannity took to X, formerly known as Twitter to share this with his followers as many people on the internet slammed Biden.

Sean Hannity reports on Joe Biden being trolled for Super Bowl ad

Fox News anchor Sean Hannity took to X and wrote, “IT'S CALLED 'BIDENOMICS': Joe Roasted for Super Bowl Ad on 'Shrinkflation,' 'Nobody Believes This' [WATCH]. 'Imagine how little respect you must have for voters to try this.'"

In Hannity's tweet, he shared an article from his official website discussing how Joe Biden may have decided against participating in the usual Super Bowl pregame interview. Instead, Biden appeared in one of the advertisements during the event, using the opportunity to speak to Americans about the concept of "shrinkflation."

In the ad, Biden said, “It’s Super Bowl Sunday, and if you’re anything like me, you like to be surrounded by a snack or two while watching the big game. You know, when buying snacks for the game, you might have noticed one thing: sports drinks bottles are smaller, [a] bag of chips has fewer chips, but they’re still charging just as much.”

He continued, “As an ice cream lover, what makes me the most angry is that ice cream cartons have actually shrunk in size but not in price. I’ve had enough of what they call Shrinkflation. It’s a rip-off."

"Some companies are trying to pull a fast one by shrinking the products little by little and hoping you won’t notice. Give me a break. The American public is tired of being played for suckers. I’m calling on companies to put a stop to this. Let’s make sure businesses do the right thing now,” he added.

Following this, Biden was brutally roasted on social media for his commercial.

Internet trolls Joe Biden on Super Bowl ad

Numerous X users criticized Joe Biden for his advertisement.

One person wrote, “I heard it took 12 takes for him to get the ad, right,” and another said, “The world is on fire and our country is on the brink of social and financial collapse and he talks about not enough chips are in the bag? Is this a SNL [sic] sketch?”

An X user slammed Biden, “How many shots. Or is it pills? It is not that untruths flow like a river. It is about the diminishing returns the [sic] get from whatever they use to make him appear semi normal,” and another wrote, “I have noticed that his brain is a product of shrinkflation.”

One more person called out Biden, “LOL, all he did was call attention to a problem he created,” and another said, “Must be shrinkflation of the brain cells.”
