WASHINGTON, DC: Donald Trump mistook tennis great Jimmy Connors for Jimmy Carter, the 39th President of the United States. By implying that Carter seemed a remarkable leader in comparison to Joe Biden, Trump aimed to disparage his political rival, per Sportskeeda.

Notably, Trump recently conducted a campaign event in Wildwood, New Jersey on Saturday, May 11, where he said with confidence that he will win the state as the US presidential election of 2024 draws near.

In front of an estimated 80,000–100,000 people, Trump aimed at Jimmy Carter. The 39th US President, he noted, had a "bad reputation" while in office, but claimed even Carter was regarded a "brilliant" president when compared to Joe Biden.

However, Trump's message was undercut, as he mistakenly referred to Carter as Jimmy Connors instead, confusing his name for the tennis legend.

He said, "Jimmy Connors is— He’s also happy. Jimmy is a very happy man. Both of them because, you know what, they want him out. Jimmy Connors had a bad reputation. Right now, he is considered a totally brilliant president by comparison (to Joe Biden). Right now he is a totally brilliant president in comparison."

Notably, throughout the campaign trail, Donald Trump often called Joe Biden the "worst" president in US history, even surpassing the shortcomings of former President Jimmy Carter.

As per the New York Times, Trump once said, "Biden is the worst president in the history of our country. Worse than Jimmy Carter by a long shot."
