NEW YORK: George Santos has threatened to sue ABC and Jimmy Kimmel, the host of a late-night talk show, for allegedly misusing his cameo clips, according to the New York Post.

Following many appearances of Santos on 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', an attorney for the ousted House member submitted a "cease and desist" notice to Kimmel, ABC, and executive producer Doug Deluca.

George Santos threatens to sue Jimmy Kimmel

George Santos' lawyer Andrew Mancilla stated in the December 12 letter, "We are writing to congratulate you — your ‘dream’ of being sued by Mr Santos may indeed come true. While your comedic efforts are much appreciated, you should have obtained Mr Santos’ consent, as he is not camera shy, nor is he blind to the comedic irony of suing you for fraud."

The presenter and Santos have been at odds for some time as last week, Kimmel made public a report that the troubled former congressman from New York had sought $20,000 to use the tapes on the late-night show.

During the show last Monday, Kimmel said to the crowd, "George Santos has claimed he's made more money in seven days than he did in Congress for a year, and part of that money came from me."

The presenter claimed to have sent Santos anonymous cameo requests.

“I sent him a bunch of crazy video requests because I wanted to see what he would read and what he wouldn’t read. I showed some of them on the air on Thursday, and now he’s demanding $20,000 from me to be paid a commercial rate,” Kimmel said.

In the episode titled 'Will Santos Say It?', Kimmel asserted that the legislator who was removed raised the price of his recordings to $500 per.

Internet trolls George Santos for threatening to sue Kimmel

After Santos' lawyer issued the letter to 'Jimmy Kimmel Live!', many people trolled the disgraced former lawmaker. A user commented, "He doesn’t have the money to sue anyone," while one added, "He must be using Rudy giuliani's attorney."

A social media user added, "Excellent!!! Go Jimmy!!!!" while one said, "Haha, Georgie doesn’t like it when he’s the one getting scammed." A user also said, "Oh but he’s happy to take the money."
