PALM BEACH, FLORIDA: Legendary actor Sylvester Stallone says he is thriving in Florida after leaving California behind.

In a recent interview with Fox News on September 19, the 79-year-old revealed the move brought him peace, happiness, and a lifestyle that better suited his personality.



 

Sylvester Stallone explains reason for leaving California

Stallone first fell in love with Florida during his college years at the University of Miami, where he studied drama.

Returning decades later felt like coming home.

“I went to college there for a couple of years. I’m not a stranger to the environment, but it fits my personality much better,” Stallone shared.

He emphasized that Florida’s coastal living suited him and his wife Jennifer Flavin perfectly.

Describing his new home, Stallone gushed about Florida’s natural beauty.

“I love it, First of all, the air seems to always be clean. We’re very, very near the water and that makes my wife incredibly happy. It makes me happy, and it’s just something about it. It’s just so lush",Stallone said. 

For Stallone, proximity to the ocean and vibrant environment brought a renewed sense of calm and fulfillment.

Jennifer Flavin also praises move to Florida

Stallone’s wife Flavin also expressed joy about leaving California in 2023.

Speaking to Fox News, she called the decision “an incredible move” and confirmed she was “really happy” with the change.

Flavin, born and raised in California, said that with their daughters living on the East Coast, there was little tying her to the Golden State.

“A few of our best friends also moved, so I think it’s a good change, just making new friends, living a totally different lifestyle. I love it. I’m really happy,” she said.

Jennifer Flavin clarifies departure wasn’t about crime

Flavin clarified that their departure wasn’t about crime, often linked to California’s celebrity exodus.

“There’s crime everywhere, there’s crime in Florida, too, so I didn’t move because of crime. You can find it anywhere, even in small towns,” she said.

According to Fox News, she called California “probably the most beautiful state in the United States” but stressed that life is short, and she wanted a change after spending her whole life there.

Together, Stallone and Flavin are embracing a new pace of life in Florida.

The actor described the move as rejuvenating, both personally and for his marriage.

The couple now enjoys the tranquility of their Palm Beach home while making fresh memories in a state Stallone says has always held a special place in his heart.

The Hollywood icon may have left California behind, but he made it clear: the Sunshine State is where he feels most at home.
