Angelina Jolie's brother James Haven opens up about 'protecting' her children after Brad Pitt split
LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Angelina Jolie’s older brother James Haven - who previously worked as the nanny of the ‘Maleficent’ actress’s six children - recently shared that he felt “protective” of his nephews and nieces at the wake of his sister’s divorce with Brad Pitt.
Haven recently appeared on an episode of the '90who10' podcast and shared that he felt it was his duty to “protect” Jolie and Pitt’s six children from the negative publicity of the two stars’ contentious divorce.

During the candid interview, Haven, 52, was asked about his response to the highly publicized split between Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie.
Haven shared, “That's where it all started, it started with the protection of her and then of her children, my nieces and nephews,” per Daily Mail. He indicated it was the beginning of a new phase in his redefined relationship with his sister.
Referring to Jolie’s six children, Haven further noted, "Those are massively formative years, they're becoming young adults in their early 20s."
Jolie is the mother of six children with Brad Pitt as they share Maddox, 22; Pax, 20; Zahara, 18; Shiloh, 17; and twins Knox and Vivienne, 15, together.
Haven continued, “That's so crazy thinking that, but yeah, I think it's just very natural [to feel protective] and I just want to be there,” before adding, “'Very much like my mom. Anytime I'm blessed to be in their presence, I want to be in their presence.”
Attributing his protective nature to their actress mother Marcheline Bertrand, Haven added, “[It's] a quality I got from my mom, even though cell phones were not as prevalent as they are now, but back to that idea of her always being like, "You are the focus."”
He shared, “I set my life up so I can be present with whatever the situation. The formative years, the young adults they're going to become, I want to be there for them — or for her — whatever she's going through.”

Haven's admission regarding him feeling protective about Jolie's children divided the internet, with many people slamming them on Facebook. "Protect them from what exactly -fine examples you two are .. carry on .." one said.
Another wrote, "Protect them from what exactly!" Someone else noted, "I think the kids need more protection from them than they do Brad!"
"That family is so screwed up ..poor Brad he’s lucky to escape her clutches," said another social media user.
A netizen chimed in, "He’s there to “save the children “ ,,, what’s he saving them from , they are not children, they are all young adults now . He acts as if Brad is going to kidnap/ hurt them , she has brainwashed them . She’s the one that’s controlling the “ children “."
