WASHINGTON, DC: Amid the uproar surrounding Donald Trump's anti-immigrant remarks during the New Hampshire rally, renewed attention has been drawn to an interview featuring his former wife, Ivana Trump, wherein she claimed that the ex-POTUS kept a book of Adolf Hitler's speeches by his bedside, as per Daily Mail.

In a 1990 profile in Vanity Fair, Ivana revealed her ex-husband's supposed fascination with the German dictator.

Marie Brenner, who penned the piece for the magazine, wrote, "Last April, perhaps in a surge of Czech nationalism, Ivana Trump told her lawyer Michael Kennedy that from time to time her husband reads a book of Hitler's collected speeches, 'My New Order', which he keeps in a cabinet by his bed."

It added, "Hitler's speeches, from his earliest days up through the Phony War of 1939, reveal his extraordinary ability as a master propagandist."

Ivana, a Czechoslovakian model, was married to the former president for 13 years until their divorce in 1990.

In his recent campaign speech at a rally in New Hampshire, the leading GOP presidential candidate said that undocumented immigrants were "poisoning the blood of our country." Many have voiced their opinion of finding it similar to Hitler's infamous "blood and soil" rhetoric.

He also laid out his plans for "the largest deportation operation in American history" if he is reelected to office. The White House recently rebuked his statements, saying that they echoed "the grotesque rhetoric of fascists and violent white supremacists."

In the Vanity Fair piece, Brenner also added another instance Ivana recalled about how Trump apparently tried to instill the Nazi dictator's ideology in his life, writing, "[W]hen he visits Doanld in his office, Ivana told a friend, he clicks his heels and says, 'Heil Hitler,' possibly as a family joke."

However, Brenner later quoted Donald, "If I had these speeches, and I am not saying that I do, I would never read them," denying the accusation of him possessing Hitler's speeches.

With only weeks left for the voting for Republican primaries for the 2024 presidential election, Trump is focusing more on the issue of the skyrocketing flow of undocumented migrants through the US-Mexico border.

He also stirred controversy after stating that he wanted to be "a dictator for one day" at the 111th annual New York Young Republicans Club Gala in New York City.

Internet reacts to Ivana Trump's claim about Donald Trump keeping a book with Adolf Hitler's speech by his bed

Soon after Ivana's Vanity Fair interview about Donald's apparent fascination with Hitler resurfaced, netizens flocked to share their views regarding the situation.

One wrote, "Not surprising. Donald clearly worships the guy and loves his language. And, by that, I don't mean German," and another added, "Who is surprised by this? Not me."

A person simply remarked, "No doubt," while someone else quipped, "Shocker...not."

An individual expressed, "That explains a lot," probably hinting toward Donald's growing anti-immigrant stance.
