LOS ANGELES, CALIFORNIA: Friends of the 'Ketamine Queen', who is accused of selling the drugs that killed Matthew Perry, retaliated on Thursday, August describing her as "spiritual," "uplifting," "bubbly," and "sweet."

Prosecutors have announced 18 charges against Jasveen Sangha
Another friend of Jasveen Sangha implied that Matthew Perry was to blame, as reported by Daily Mail, stating that, "at the end of the day, nobody’s forcing anybody to do drugs."
On Thursday, August 14, prosecutors announced 18 charges against 41-year-old Sangha, as well as against two doctors accused of illegally supplying ketamine to Perry, a trafficker of the drug, and Perry's assistant who is alleged to have administered the tranquilizer on the day of his death.
Sangha entered a plea of not guilty in a federal court in Los Angeles today and was detained pending trial.
Interior designer Clancy Carter, a friend of Sangha's since 2008, expressed surprise to Daily Mail about her friend's involvement in large-scale drug dealing, noting that Sangha comes from a wealthy family that supports her.
"She’s always in the nicest designer clothes. She has a family that takes care of her," the mother of three from Orange County stated. "She has never been the type of person who needed money."
She went on to say, "She has property in the UK. She’s always traveling and doing fun things with her family. I would never guess she would do something like this at all. But if they have evidence connected directly to her I’m completely shocked."
She described Sangha as "uplifting, bubbly and sweet and spiritual," but added, "Either way someone innocent died, someone who needed proper attention and care. So it’s concerning for sure."
Jasveen Sangha allegedly sold 50 vials of liquid ketamine to Matthew Perry
Drug runner Eric Fleming texted Kenny Iwamasa, Matthew Perry's assistant, on October 11 of last year, claiming that Jasveen Sangha "only deal[s] with high-end and celebs" when supplying drugs, according to an indictment filed on Thursday.
The prosecution then went into detail about 50 vials of liquid ketamine that Sangha allegedly sold to Perry through his assistant.
Carter shared with Daily Mail that her friend truly mingled with Hollywood's elite, engaging in marketing and event planning for celebrities, and had attended previous Golden Globe and Oscar ceremonies alongside Carter.
"She knows a lot of people in the industry," Carter said. "Her and I have been to the Golden Globes and the Oscars. There’s a lot of celebrities she was mingling with."
She further added, "I care for her deeply. I’d hate to see something terrible happen to her regardless of the case."
Artist Heather Pardieu, 42, expressed surprise upon learning about the charges against her friend Sangha. She implied that the actor himself bore some responsibility for Perry's death.
"She’s a friend of mine," Pardieu told. "I mean, at the end of the day, nobody’s forcing anybody to do drugs."
She stated that she had never witnessed Sangha engaging in or being associated with drug activities. However, prosecutors claim that during a raid by the Drug Enforcement Agency (DEA) and other law enforcement on her North Hollywood residence in March, they discovered thousands of pills and kilograms of powder.
"During the search, law enforcement seized significant quantities of illegal drugs, including approximately 1,978 grams of orange pills that field tested positive for methamphetamine, 79 bottles containing a clear liquid that field tested positive for ketamine, and various other suspect narcotics," in a criminal complaint dated March 20, DEA Agent Tyler Abrego stated the following.
Even before her suspected involvement in Perry's death was made public, the agent claimed that she had texts on her phone about selling ketamine and videos of herself "cooking" the drug.
These claims served as the foundation for a number of drug charges including five counts related to the sale of ketamine.
Friends shocked by Jasveen Sangha’s drug charges
Jasveen Sangha's friends allege that she concealed her looming charges and grave legal predicament with expertise, hosting a birthday party earlier this month without any indication of the difficulties she faced.
Los Angeles realtor Greg Wasik expressed his shock to Daily Mail upon discovering that his friend of several years had been charged with selling drugs that resulted in Perry's death.
Wasik mentioned that Sangha appeared normal and calm while celebrating her 41st birthday with friends at a Hollywood bar recently.
‘I was at her birthday party just the other day and there was no inkling of anything like this going on in her life," he said. "She was definitely just a pretty normal person I’ve known for years."
Wasik mentioned that he became acquainted with Sangha at dance music events they both attended. He was present at her birthday celebration this month and also at a grand 1970s-themed party for her 40th birthday last year.
At that event, Sangha wore a sequined outfit, held a pimp-style cane, and was photographed beside a luxury Mercedes.
Prosecutors contended that Sangha, with her affluent background and dual UK citizenship, presented a risk of fleeing. Consequently, Judge Alka Sagar concurred and ordered her detention pending her trial in October.
