RENO, NEVADA: Senator JD Vance (R-OH) raised eyebrows when he declared former President Donald Trump, at 78, is “healthier” than him.

Speaking at a rally in Reno, Nevada, the Ohio Republican, 40, praised his running mate as a courageous leader, brushing off media concerns about their ability to lead.

"We want Donald J Trump because he’s courage under fire and that’s an underrated quality by our media,” JD Vance said, touting Trump’s resilience and leadership.

He added, “Donald Trump has it in spades. It’s why he did such a good job the first time and will do a very good job the second time, too."

The GOP vice president nominee emphasized that he would be prepared from day one and urged the audience to disregard media opinions about his and the former president's leadership capabilities.

“First of all, the question is not whether the media says I’m ready,” Vance added. “The question is whether the American people do. They are the ones that determine a president and the vice president, and I’m proud to be an outsider to American politics.”

JD Vance highlights his diverse background and emphasizes common sense as key leadership quality

JD Vance, who turned 40 in August, went on to champion his own experience as a lawmaker, businessman, and Marine. "I’ve been a United States senator and I’ve been a businessman who’s created jobs. I was a United States Marine who served my country and went to Iraq when I was asked."

"I’ve got something we have spades in this room and we cordially have this room had won for surely have known of in the White House, which is common sense. That’s what we see in American leaders. Look, I try to be a humble guy," he quipped.

"I think the presidency is such a big job. I feel extremely confident, I mean, hell, Donald Trump is healthier than I am. I feel extremely confident that Donald Trump is going to serve and serve well for four years for the American people and I’m going to help him. We are going to make America great again and we are going to do it together."

Trump’s medical records remain a mystery as Kamala Harris releases health status

In August, Donald Trump told CBS News he’d “gladly” release updated medical records ahead of the 2024 election, boasting a “perfect score” on a previous exam.

Yet, with less than two weeks before Election Day, those records remain unseen. In contrast, Kamala Harris has made her health status public, revealing a recent report detailing her “excellent health,” despite minor conditions like nearsightedness and a family history of colon cancer, per BDO.

Social media erupts over JD Vance’s claim of Donald Trump’s superior health

JD Vance's assertion that Donald Trump is "healthier" than him has ignited a fierce backlash on social media, with users expressing skepticism about the former president's fitness for office.

"Trump will be 80 in less than 20 months. He is a disaster wrapped in a catastrophe...," tweeted a user.

"If @realDonaldTrump is healthier than @JDVance , the @GOP really needs to worry," said a second.

"Then. Release. The old man’s. Medical records," tweeted a third.

"So you’re morbidly obese and demented as well?" questioned a user.

"Trump is so exhausted and in such rapid cognitive decline that his handlers have had to cancel numerous events. JD Vance is now saying his health is even worse than Trump's. This is not a ticket healthy enough to hold the highest offices in the nation," read a tweet.

"Trump will serve four years or more in prison," penned a user.

"That is not even remotely believable that he’s saying that with a straight face. These people truly hate the voters and think everyone is so stupid to believe everything and anything they tell them," stated a user.
