CONCORD, NORTH CAROLINA: A small gesture can brighten someone’s day, and that’s exactly what Vice President JD Vance did on Wednesday, September 24.
During his speech, a young boy named Henry James asked Vance for something different from the usual questions about policy or politics. He wanted a selfie, according to Fox News.
Without hesitation, Vance agreed, giving the crowd a lighter moment during an otherwise serious event.

JD Vance pauses speech for Henry James’s favor
Most of JD Vance’s remarks focused on Donald Trump’s administration and its commitment to law and order. He spoke about keeping violent offenders behind bars and supporting local police.
But the tone shifted when a young voice cut through the crowd during a Q&A session.
While taking questions from reporters, Vance noticed 12-year-old Henry James from Huntersville.
Rather than asking about politics, Henry made a simple request, and Vance gladly granted it.
Henry walked up to the stage wearing a red Trump hat and an American flag T-shirt. With confidence, he shook hands with the vice president, pulled out his phone, and made his request.

"I skipped school today," Henry said. "I was wondering if I could get a picture with you."
The audience cheered as Vance smiled and waved him up to the stage, granting his wish.
"Well, I guess I got to have some excuse to skip school, so I might as well get a photo with Henry," Vance joked, patting the boy on the back before returning to the microphone.
The vice president then added, "I wish I got questions that easy, but I'm not holding out hope."

He also spoke about conservative activist Charlie Kirk, saying he should be honored for his efforts in defending debate and free speech.
